Community Space Station - Elite Stats - Andrew Winter

Dear all,

Just as promised, since my website's ad-generated funds seem to be heading for greater than space-station level funding for the kickstarter reward tier, I would like to open the debate for naming the space station!

I would love to name the space station 'Andrew Winter's Place' or something equally as selfish and original... but the truth is, as much work as the website has taken me, none of the money raised would have come in without you, the loyal community!

So I would like to see what's most popular, and hopefully come to a popular consensus before the Elite Kickstarter blows the funding goal into the ether!!!

I'll start this off with a poll, but by all means discuss this to death in main thread! Not that I'd expect any less =)

N.B.
The Google ad revenue is by no means guaranteed.. Google can wildly adjust ad revenue when they verify your ad views/clicks and can even pull all revenues if any foul play is detected.
I have been very discrete about my ad income , and also have disclaimers telling visitors to only click ads if they are genuinely of interest. So I have high hopes for my current estimated income.

As I just said on the E kickstarter comments page .... you're stats site has provided me with an invaluable service, one which I have very much appreciated.

Name the space station yourself ... personally, I think you deserve it for generating another £500 ....

I would spend some time coming up with a clan name, see if the URL is free for it and then call your space station that and register the domain name... You could get a forum going for your clan and set out an ethos!

Imagine being in a clan with it's own personal Space Station

Hi, new member reporting for duty. Firstly, thank you very much for the Kickstarter tracker - it's reassuring to know that Elite: Dangerous will probably reach its funding target!

Heard about this thread while lurking on the KS comments, so I thought I'd join in. A couple of days ago I started thinking "Wouldn't it be great if E had some sort of tribute to Patrick Moore?" I wanted to name a space station after his home village - "Selsey Station" has a nice ring to it and I'm sure most people would get the reference.

You're very kind I'll consider this.. but I really wanted to do something for everyone.. it'd be cool to hear people are meeting up at a space station as a place to meet people from here/KS comments without looking each other up.

I've thought about that but I'd rather it be a wider consensus - as some find the whole jonty reference annoying =)

Thanks & you're probably right, I only gave the poll options as a starter to the discussion.. but it does seem like that's all I'm considering.. shame I can't edit the poll on here :-\

"Winter" is a cool starting point for a name, you're lucky in that regard. I was going to suggest "Winter Palace", but "Winter Pasture", "Midwinter Station", "Heart of Winter", these are all good names without being obvious egoboos.

At any rate, whilst what you are doing is admirable if you ask me the choice of the space station name should be yours.

Great suggestion there Liqua, I am going to add my voice to the many here and say, you thoroughly deserve to name the station Andrew after yourself or something else that is special to you. Your stats thread has calmed alot of nerves around here, that alone gives you the right to call it what ever you like
