They are busy pumping out looting and crafting so they can sell more copies, make mroe profit, this is just a lazy plot device. braben does shiny but braben doesnt do indpeth, complex content very well. They would need to rehire the 30 odd canadian employess that were working on the background sim before they fired the lot.

Thats just my review of the situation. Brookes does the best he can with the team they have, they are rehiring hope they actually can hire some taleneted staff ( ex Eve online staff maybe)

Well anyway back to the masisvely online multiplayer grindfest that is selling unknown artifacts to maia ( lots of profit in that)
You know, if you mention EvE on these forums, the chance of you encountering high velocity rotten produce is increased exponentially.

Is it just me or are all your posts about calling Frontier out on some plot to milk us ?

people are landing on places in Merope but its empty for me, what am I missing? when I jump in I only see Merope, the belt, and 2 planets that you cant land on.

I'm sorry for asking again...who send the message (Thursday, Row....) to the CMDR? Anybody a clue?

To the horizons-trailer: are you sure this was made of ingame-scences? I'm not quite sure.....

FINALLY.
@Szyslak22: your is one of the most clever comment in all the thread +REP for you.
I totally agree with you. If the Barnacles are to be found in other nebula as well, the UA pointing to merope could be not because of the Barnacles.

Unless... around those other nebulas, we could find another UA shell... pointing to some system inside the Nebula itlself :D

@Agony_Aunt: after MB latest posts I've come to your same conclusions.

I'm currently in T Tauri (Hind Nebula), it only has 1 system and 3 landable moons, but so far, no luck

I am pretty Damn sure that this is the case. There are real fd statements and logic to back it up, not just guessing

I agee. I would go as far as saying that large barnacles will never be found in blue POI.

This is based on the 'one object, one mechanic' idea. The division is between fixed location and none fixed location. Not between hand placed and RNG.

That sayed. I still think there are barnacly things to be found in both blue POI and as materials. Large barnacles can't emerge full size from the void. I firmly belive that UAs spread barnacles as an egg capsule or similar.
We should be able to find those eggs eventually, perhaps even babycles. :)

It's an insectoid race just like the Zerg are. It may even be a crashed Thargoid ship, or a terraformer, or excavator or hive entrance or god knows what...it's eerie and ominous to even think about it.

Anyone else think the pyramid in the horizons trailer (Barnacle) looks like a Zerg hive?

Doomed.

I see shades of Mass Effect with these Barnacles. They themselves may not be dangerous but they are dangerous in what they do to either or both technological and biological assets. Think either the Thorian zombies or th Technological zombies (humans on the techno spikes)..... um... what if they mess up our ships which are made out of metal... and possess and zombify Thargoids who are techno/organic dependent beings?

Pretty scary.

I think this line of thinking is correct. As far as we know, blue POI = RNG luck-of-the-draw objects, and barnacles do not seem to be that, based on FDev statements.

What about the spray that comes from the UAs? Perhaps we are the ones seeding the Barnacles about the place?

@Szyslak22 may be onto something. It still doesn't answer the question about why the UAs point at Merope, but as a result I think we need to start banding together and working more organised search patterns. Any off-duty SAR pilots who can teach us how to search properly?!

We should make use of the spreadsheet at least. It's owner gave me permissions quite quickly. It seems sensible to make use of it (although perhaps we need to define what "landed on" means in this case)

(Apologies for the ramble: imagination fired up)

Someone mentioned this earlier and I can't find their post, sorry. The shape of the barnacles would be very strong, is there a reason for that? If we assume the UAs are related we definitely can see that they can build other styles than just a dull upside down pie(especially dull when contrasted with a UA). Could it be that they chose the trapazoid shape specifically for it's strength? This would indicate that they would probably be on higher g worlds(more than just 1g).

Well at least is not a CUBE!

Yes, I think we can thank our stars for that.

Pretty scary.

New form of mutant-thargoid life created by the Virus humanity infected the thargoid ships with in the past? So sentient, organic-technology?

I'm at work at the moment (New Zealand) but I just had a realisation.

The Bubble nebula is no longer locked with an 'unknown' permit - how far away is this nebula? It's a small blue nebula, can anyone check it out? See what planets are there? Why would it be locked, then no longer locked?

I'm only on page 123 at the moment.

There aren't any nebulae in the bubble. :D
