Astronomy / Space Was it an exomoon?

There is necessarily, other exomoons in other stellar systems. As there is necessarily to other planets with the life. We can not be unique in the universe. If this was the case, and if the life on the earth disappeared, then there shall have nothing alive in the universe ? It is difficult to imagine

I think the likelihood of moons around exoplanets being common is very high, based on a pretty good understanding that we have about how planets and moons form.

Life, on the other hand, we don't know much about. We only have one example to base our theories on.

I don't have any trouble believing that there is other life out there, but there is no way yet to know how common it is.

The potential exomoon in this article, if it is a moon, would be around a planet that is not orbiting a star. That is very interesting, (interesting from a game play perspective too :) )

Considering, in our system alone Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune have moons, and even Pluto had 4, I think it's safe to say exomoons exist. Even though we apparently live in an unusual system.

i think our system aint unusual at all i think planets are very common and exomoons are aboundant its just extremly hard to confirm , just think 25 years ago , exoplanets was hardly heard of let alone confirmed.

What's this? JazHaz being grumpy again? <chortles merrily>

As for exomoons, they will surely be plentiful - and rogue planets with moons in tow are a fascinating prospect.

I agreed that there's likely lots of moons and I'm aware that there's been a few exoplanets discovered. Our system is unusual in that so far it seems like we are an oddball. On top of that the majority of systems are Binary, not Singular. Also far we're the only system we know that has life (despite Fermi's Paradox).
