How combat loggers are dealt with in Street Fighter V

Maybe if FD started to remove naval ranks and combat XP levels THEN people would behave...

http://www.pcgamer.com/street-fighter-v-rage-quitters-punished-with-lp-and-rank-drops/

"Street Fighter V launched with no system in place to punish rage-quitters, a frankly mad state of affairs in this, the year of Zangief. In response to complaints, Capcom vowed to punish naughty quitters—and now those punishments have begun. Writing on the Capcom Unity blog, Capcom's 'haunts' has said that "roughly 30" players had their League Points and ranks docked last week, an action the company considers a warning. From now on, there will be weekly sweeps on accounts with "abnormally high disconnect rates" (as in, an 80-90% discount rate), with the offenders having their LP reset."

They dont even have to do something that invasive.

Eve has a perfect system in place. You may be logged out or D/C but your ship is still persisting.

Oh joy. Yet another thread for people who don't understand how peer-to-peer networking works to explain to us all how to deal with combat logging. Just what the forum needs....

Oh joy, someone who doesn't know that Street Fighter V is a peer-to-peer networked game...

I meant the game. It's simply junk - I wouldn't even touch it again with yours.

>put's hands around dangly bits< I'll take your word for it. :D
I know you're a whiz with the routers and networks. Do you know anything about this strategy in street fighter for loggers? Is it just a sweep of high frequency disconnects or something more substantial?

The issue is that many players are experiencing video drivers crashes and there are countless threads about them. The task-bar error message is "Direct 3D could not lock buffer," the game keeps running but the video drops out leaving you on the desktop hearing the sounds from the game. If you have silent running bound to your delete key then pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete just trying to close the game will cause you to turn off your shields while the video signal is missing causing more headache. Even after the video driver has recovered you can't see the game again without closing Elite from the task manager and relaunching the game. The suggested "resolution" had players down-clocking their video cards but I don't believe it has fixed the issue. It's persistent enough to interrupt every gaming session so additional punishment is unnecessary until a proper resolution has bee introduced.

Like we needed another reason for the remaining playerbase to move to solo mode?

I'm in the FGC and I can't see why rage quitting needs to be punished. It's just conceding defeat before the inevitable, and the win is awarded to the player that was quit on. Nobody in the FGC even cares about rage quitters, we just laugh when it happens.

Combat logging on the other hand is a whole other kettle of fish and should have some punishment system in place for it. Players that combat log should simply move to solo mode. Why play in open if you don't want to fight? Pvpers would have less to shoot at, but there's always cqc.

That'd be an interesting way to deal with the issue. Frontier has stated that they have ways of monitoring accounts that have high disconnection rates in combat (particularly on low hull percentage).

Personally I think they should be shadowbanned to a blacklisted mode where all NPC's disappear on 1% hull. It'd be beautiful to see :)

LOL! That's worth a +1.

Sounds like an awful system to me. I'd be cooking two or three ships a week face planting into stars, stations or planets. Basically it's not going to happen.

Should I point out that this game does not revolve around PVP, and tgat such is actually a minority group?

Definitely still not fixed. I've opened up a ticket as I've tried everything: turning down my graphics card, running two games at once, clean install etc. When my game crashes and I'm in combat or docking etc the only thing I can do it pull out the power plug. I find trying to close the application via task manager takes too long. My game crashes at least every day now, I brought Horizons last week thinking it'd help but unfortunately it's made it worse. I just wish the game would crash at a convenient moment, like when I'm sat safely I'm a dock and not when I'm being intradicted by npcs.

Regards, mm.

I wonder how many trading Guiles and exploring Chun Lis get ambushed by four PVP-Blankas.

Edit: man, me so stupid. Play in SOLO then! It's so simple! [down]

Combat logging does not only apply to PvP.. it is an exploit whichever game mode/style you choose to play..

Person is losing at game, rage quits game, banned from playing, news at 10.... #jokes

Maybe we can fight combat logging in Elite with Hadokens? If you combat log and then re-enter the game theres a Ryu across the screen who spams hadokens until you die. Should you try to shoot him Ken punches your lasers away with Shoryuken.
