Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

No thank you.

I don't know how many want what, but I prefer TCE not become a crowd sourced anything.

I agree with this. My TCE, my data and no one else's! If I want info on the systems around me I will fly there and get it.
edit - I guess I have just forthded or fifthded it :)

Hi Eventure.

I to have not selected a Region Centre but I find it strange that TCE will be ok one second and then take ages
for the next also I am now seeing TCE take a while to record a new station(market) sometimes it will do it
in seconds other times it cane take up to five minutes before the 59 second countdown..

thanks dee...

I also had this problem along with the slow summary panel. What fixed it for me is in my reply to Abil Midena.

Hello everyone,

I like to show you all a new function of the Position Display of TCE comming with the next update.

The Position Display showing your current position in ED as you know, but now you can click onto it to get some case-sensitive button to open the database panel for star systems, trade markets and stored locations.
First off, I added a new database panel for locations, like combat zones, resource extractions and point of interest, equal to the Markets Database panel. With it, you can add, modify and delete locations as you did with trade markets.

With a click on the Position Display, two buttons appearing below the display showing two options, which depending on the displayed content of the Position Display.

When showing "Unknown Star System": NEW STAR SYSTEM and MODIFY STAR SYSTEM.
When showing "Star System Name : Sector XX": NEW MARKET and NEW LOCATION.
When showing "Star System Name : Trade Market Name": MODIFY MARKET and DELETE MARKET.
When showing "Star System Name : Location Name": MODIFY LOCATION and DELETE LOCATION.

A click on a button opens the corresponding Database panel and selects New, Modify or Delete Entry in advance.

This should reduce the repeative DATABASE > MARKETS > NEW ENTRY clicks and resulting in an easier way to add/modify entries of the database.

The update will be available on sunday, so I hope.

Oh wow! This looks amazing! Just back after several months and find this. Just what we need. Is there a youtube tutorial for this amazing piece of work? I need to re-learn everything.

Thank you Enenture

I had a very similar problem to what you are describing. I could scan a star and jump to a different system before the system summary panel would appear and my Trade Range was set to 45ly. What fixed it for me was to create a backup of my database using the TCE database operations tab, I put mine on my desktop, then completely delete TCE and do a clean install using the 1.1.5 installer. I then used it for about an hour to make sure that all was working fine and then using the database operations tab restored my backup. Since then I have not had a problem. I would suggest that once you have done the clean install you could re-load your old database without a problem.
edit - I actually timed it and it was taking TCE 3 minutes to start and 2.5 minutes to open the system summary screen
Tried this today, but it didn't help. Thanks tho.

Tce always worked fine for me but for the first time i got a problem today
while launching it becomes stuck and after a few minutes i get "error while reading records table log" " System.OutofMemory Expection.
I am using 1.1.5 version.

Can you give me your database (eventure(at)ki.tng.de)?

@Abil Midena
First testing runs fine, from pressing "LAUNCH TCE" to the appearance of the UI it needs 21 seconds here.

For me, I just tested, it got to about 3/4 or 7/8 of the way in about 22 sec, then seemed to hang and not complete until 1 min 35 sec.

edit* I will add that sometimes TCE is fast with detecting a change in location, other times it is very slow. I have not been able to pin it to a particular circumstance, like times visited, number of stations, etc. I have been hanging around in the same general area (say 50 LY) of the bubble since installing 1.1.5 fwiw. I always found the location detection to be very fast in the last version I used (1.0.2).

Hi Eventure

Well did a full re-install as per "Grumpy181155" but it's still the same for me too, I understand your bringing
out a new one over the weekend (Sunday I think) so will wait for that...

thanks dee...

Hi Eventure,

Trying out 1.1.6.

Thanks for the clock. Enabled and set to UTC. Working fine.

Initial selection of Nav panel is now near instant. Nice.

Unfortunately, location detection for arriving at a different system/starport is the same (can be very slow). I'm guessing something between 1.0.2 and 1.1.5 along with my computer, has made it slow. Have you tried using my DB and going to a few different systems? If it's not my DB, I'll just have to get used to not using TCE for navigation.

Also, I noticed that in the trade panel if a port sells and buys an item, it's not listed in the "Imports" list. If it only buys an item, then it's listed. Is that right? Is it possible to have all items that a port buys, regardless if it also sells it, listed as an import?

Thanks,
Abil

Please try to use a clean database to check, if the problem persists.
A market, which sells and buys a good is normally listed under exports only, because it's sell price is mostly below the average of the good.

Hi,
it's not fitting my screen resolution and my monitor is 1920 x 1200.
The top panel fits perfect but the bottom panels do not.
Looks like it's stuck at 1920 x 1080.

How can I resize it to 1920 x 1200?

Many thanks.

Used TCE to create a backup of the DB. I also copied the DB folder to another location. Deleted TCE folder. Installed 1.1.5, then pasted in the 1.1.6 update files.

Load time for TCE was about 24 sec. It was 1 min, 25 sec before.

Location detection for entering a new system was always near instant. Dropping from SC to a station/outpost was a max of about 5 sec before it updated saying the sector.

So, it appears something about my DB is causing the load issue and the slow location detection. Is it possible the DB is fine, but as the size of the DB, as it grows, eventually slows things down?

I am going to use TCE to import my backup and will report back.
