The Formidine Rift - Part 2

I don't know about the RP reason for it, but I'm starting to wonder if selling lots of data to CoR, we might get more clues from her more quickly...

Yes, they are a player group - but based on recent events, it sounds to me as if the Canonn are starting to be written into the UA storyline, so perhaps the Children of Raxxla are getting similar treatment regarding exploration.

I'm not sure. Could the GalNet article be hinting to Mars High?
They seem to hold the biggest data base and Kahina may have a deal with them.
She spent a lot of time there, last year.

They probably do have the largest database, but that's because Mars is where Federal Congress is based. I also doubt that we would be required to sell the data to a permit locked system (suggesting there is anywhere specific to sell, rather than just places not to... and assuming there is anything else to it). The reason I am suggesting CoR, is because we might actually hear more from Salomé.

Did anyone explored the idea that the clues point to one/several star catalogues ?

It could be that what we seek is a non-proceduraly generated star system, but not any of the obvious ones.
I was thinking that maybe the clues point to two different catalogs, and by looking at the intersection, we
get a much constrained search space ?

Not specifically, but this is why a lot of us have been using Simbad to check multiple designations for system names, as you can often search for a single non-procedural system under two names on the Galaxy Map, although only one shows up on the map itself. I'd be very surprised if what we are looking for is in a procedural system, but have nothing to back that up other than gut instinct.

Thankies. Going to head there after I'm back.
Hello Becks! Nice to see you here! Love your stories, although I still need to read your last entries…

Watch out when cruising to CoR's station. It's 1900ls from the star and last time I got ganked by NPC's on my way there and almost lost all exploration data.

I know simbad querries quite well. My question is more related to the idea that the clues might point to some catalogs in particular.
I'd be interested if anyone has already dug in that direction.

If anyone would like to assist in Rifting, but has no desire to do Full Sub Sector scans, we might have a job for you.

Wanted : Pilots to fly the RR Line and record any Sub Sectors they see using the simple Google Form (no need to enter your CMDR Name unless you also want to scan the sub sector). If you are mega-lazy, you can even miss out the Approx Coords and leave it to the Chimps to look them up.

Did anyone notice that not only Drew used " ..." in "Good luck, and ... right on, Commander. (Space before ellipsis)

But Salome did too in Ed's livechat? "You have to prepare blah, blah, blah for x and" ..."?

I think this is a rather good point. Or three points. Kinda like triangulation.

Hrmmmm.

Im going with this one. Obviously we cant call it or them anything but " ..." because they haven't been found yet...

I demand a full investigation of what points we should if we could - triangulate with while I sleep.

I will attempt to dream about it. Nggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggn........................................................ngnnnnn...ngn......nn..................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. OH! A DRINK! ... .. . . . . . . ..... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

have you tried searching the Galmap for a system named "ellipsis"??
;-))

(does anyone know why I can't add smileys when using my iPad?)

Don't forget what the old lady said - “If you’re listening to this it means you’re smart enough to have bypassed Galcop, Federation and Imperial security.”

I suggest selling in Independent or Alliance worlds! The Feds & Imps are historically behind INRA ( & I suspect the Palin abduction/Cerberus incident) & clearly want to hide anything to do with the Rift!

I don't think it will be as complicated as explorers trying to figure out where to sell their data among the myriad of stations. I really think there will be competing CGs so that FD can drive the story with input from the player base. Although, maybe I'm being to hopeful :)

Yes, but during the livestream it was stated that "only the children can carry the message" which to me says that we should sell the data at Children of Raxxla's homebase in HR 6421

7 Veils, 7 Gates - Perhaps 7 Jumps off the RR line ?

Veil is a mask. Gate is a kind of jump, you could say we use jumps as gates between stars.

Oh, and with regards to KGBFOAM - Perhaps an M class Star ?

Kfbfoam is just easier to remember, it's OBAFGKM in order of magnitude but I think the neutron star idea is our best lead from seven veils

Yes, that crossed my mind too, but M is still the 7th. Remember when at Beagle Point we were told we were in the general area? Perhaps investigate systems that are 7 jumps from BP.

I'm in route to EOWYG AIRG AD-X B1-0 (if my calculations are correct is the farthest visible star system on the RR Line, it's on the New Outer Arm). I'll try traveling along the RR Line from there crossing the Rift towards the "core" systems. I'll do with some wingmen of my group (some of them are there already).

If you want us to do something just ask (and bring some cookies :))

I'm going to head back to the bubble for repairs and modules change. Can't decide Wether to stay there untill engineers or head straight back out. [where is it]
