Most likely the easiest way is the XB store.
I hope so I can see a few issues coming up if it's from the Frontier Store.
I didn't have any problems buying bobble heads and stuff but I know quite a few people did.
Don't upset yourself, when you get home the next morning check out the bug reports and laugh at all the folks who have spent an entire day overloading the servers trying to download it.
I myself am away til Saturday evening as well and I suspect people such as us may have an easier time

Probably later in the day. I belive the server side updates will start at 9pm GMT or something like that.
Noob Horizons Questions
I'm a few thousand light years away from Sol, exploring in my pimped-to-the-max Sidewinder. When I get Horizons, will I be able to land on any planet? Is it possible to destroy your ship during landing? Do I automatically get an SRV or do I have to crawl back to civilization on my hands and knees and purchase one? I'd happily pay extra for one to magically appear on board. Oh and when I do get an SRV, how easily can they get damaged, if at all?

Your ship will automatically have a planetary module suite installed when you get horizons, you will have to go back to get an srv and I think they are fairly easily damaged and yes you can damage/destroy your ship during landing.
damn it, with my net i was hoping to do the download over night -.-
The update itself I have no clue when will be ready but I bet it will still be while the servers are down.
