Michael,

Will the existing Alpha forum be merged intot he Beta forum? That would make sense to me to help prevent double posting and let all the play testers see what's being discussed.

Will be be able to download / update the Elite: Dangerous client a short time ahead of the Premium Beta Launch so that we can play as soon as the Premium beta goes live?

I created a ticket about this but I got the response that there was nothing they could do. That's very unfortunate, I was really hoping they could make magic happen.

At least they were quick about it and answered my ticket within two hours.

Just out of interest, with the Alpha forums retired, where would alpha backers post feedback on the early releases of the various beta builds?

I've got a question regarding alpha/beta.

Obviously the Premium Beta will start on May 30th but what then?

Will Alpha players get new content before Premium Beta players (as in, alpha-testing new content and features before they are deployed onto the beta build) or will Alpha players play the exact same builds as Premium Beta players?

Alpha players get the beta builds approximately 2 weeks before released to beta. This is just so they can iron out the worst problems before unleashing it to a larger user base.

See, this is exactly why I'd want to purchase the Alpha right now instead of being restricted to the Premium Beta.

I would love to be able to test the latest, report the bugs I encounter and being able to help out as much as possible with the development.

It's a pity you missed out on alpha, but to be fair, it has been on "sale" since November 2012 & they only stopped selling it last month. Where were you? ;)

Regardless, I'm pretty sure there will be plenty to report in beta. :)
