My open letter to Fdev

It's impossible to blockade a system due to mode switching and instancing. They probably did the closest thing to a full blockade as can be done in the game.

Um my point is, It is impossible for anyone to blockade a system. Because of what you just mentioned. lol

Um, no, I've read the whole thread, 13th Legion members are not alone in trying and failing to justify their actions, and agian with the 'we don't care about the PVE stuff but we'll throw it in your face because, y'know, really we do' crud is getting old quick. That is part of the problem as I illustrated in my first post in this thread, honestly, some saying 'we don't care, la, la, la', others saying, 'how dare you do that, (as you are). If you don't care why mention it?, if you secretly do care, (not just you, others claiming the same too), why deny that you do?

Because already you're proving my point by tarring me with the same brush, because like a few people I'm annoyed at the god modding and incorrect calls for their heads under the EULA. It seems either that people are 100% with you, or against you and there can be no shades of grey.

I enjoy the BGS and did until recently invest a lot of my game time. But that's because I don't play the game in the same way as the people you're having a go at do.

Ohhhh now I see. 13th legion are the victims here.

See, that's the part I didn't get all along. You had no other options available to you.

Colour me embarrased for missing that.

Looks like the pve'rs aren't getting that.

Outcomes point to the game mechanics restrictions more than anything. You can't blame someone for putting a screen door on a submarine when you told them to put on a door and provided them with only a screen door.

So...rather than be a pain in the tukus to other players who have no interest in the fact that some players REALLY HATE THE GAME'S design...how about just admitting that the game sucks...for you..and leave.

Either quietly or with one of those 'I quit. FDEV Suxors!' threads!

Seriously. If I hated a game with the passion it takes to screw around with other players enjoyment...I would throw the game out long before I would attack players who have no interest in why I hate the game so much!

so what options did the Empire aligned players have to defend against that Fed CG ?

Not enough - that should have been provided from FD in the form of a counter goal, invading Mobius as some sort of protest that FD didn't do this is at best, an extremely lame excuse, at worst, harassment. It was not the way to counter or protest against anything, all that has been achieved is some group bans and a rep plummet for some idiotic behaviour and subsequent justifications.

One. Invade Mobius, obviously. There was no other way.

And now they did, the Fed CG is no more and all is well. Good job 13th!

Have you found my quote yet? Or will you admit you made up all those things you said I said? :)

"No you!" eh?

Excellent point, well made :)

I truly agree with OP.

FDev - please fix game mode mechanics. Your current solution is dividing players and community becomes toxic.

My proposition is:
- One mode for all.
- In the bubble You could create a safe areas with very strong and fast security response where PvP could be impossible. Security response could be so strong as station response - run or die. In this location players who are like to flight in solo or just dont want pvp could play safely. And this will not break an immersion, because this will not be pvp toggle option, it will be just in-game regulation, and attacking other players will end by a rebuy for attacker. PvP bad boys born under the dark star will just be play in other places.
- CG both, in and outside the safe zones, for less and more experienced players
- a safe zone (high security systems, or sectors) could be good indicated to make sure everyone know is leaving safe zone

There is a hell of star systems. if someone dont want play with others - galaxy is big and the habitated bubble is big. If someone dont want pvp - then safe areas (large numbers, sectors - just idea to develop) will be for him. If someone will want 'more danger' then he can just leave safe area and fly in a places when Police will not be so strong.

This will be constant solution what can please the most (of course not all, there will be in five microseconds few guys who dont want because they want iWin or something, or they think they can do everything because they just born, but this is a promile) of community.

Good grief. Imagine the ranting and raving that would happen if this were to occur. Fortunately it isn't likely, but the posts on this forum would be immense!

I don't think anyone outside of the legion has claimed that. they're definitely guilty of ungentlemanly acts by invading Mobius, however as with the other time similar things happened, they've made sure they stayed the right side of the rules.
Calling out for their heads when there is no grounds to do so, is not going to help matters, and is making 'the victims' look a damn sight worse than the perpetrators in the eyes of people who are coming into this discussion for the other reasons (God mod handwaving on the devs part) which everyone is overlooking in an attempt to get their pound of flesh.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but it is this simple. I DON'T PLAY THIS GAME FOR PVP.

I HAVE OTHER GAMES I PLAY FOR PVP!

If I want to tPVP, I play BIG STOMPY MECHS AKA MECHWARRIOR ONLINE - ALL PVP, ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT. Put some Metallica, Scorps, Van Halen, AC/DC, Disturbed, Ozzy or Alice Cooper in the music player and blast and stomp.

When I want PVE, I come to E: D, put in some soothing cruise through space soothing music, and I cruise.

I DON'T WANT TO PVP IN E: D. That's why I am in Mobius. A PRIVATE GROUP DEDICATED TO PVE. I am staying out of the PVPers way, stay out of mine. Sometimes I find a fellow Mobius member, and we chat while cruising the space lanes. Not so some jackwagon who gets his or her jollies off of being a jerk can play target practice because they don't agree with my game mode choice.

I did nothing to affect them personally. I was enjoying the game in my own way, a BASIC TENET OF THIS GAME. That jackwagon disrupted that. They violated TOS/EULA. I just wish FDev would get the testicular fortitude to actually deal with this (repeated) interruption of the right of the Mobius players to enjoy the game in their way, free of harassment. And particularly deal with the individuals who show no willingness to admit they crossed a line, and no willingness to admit that they harmed other players (at least one to the tune of several million credits.) 13th Legion is making FDev more of a joke than even the CG restart, because FDev is not willing to deal with a group that has intentionally done something that FDev came out and said was not allowed in March with SDB or SDC or whoever they were. I am calling on FDEV to either enforce the rules they clarified which members of 13hth legion broke, or admit that you are a toothless paper tiger, and unwilling to enforce your own rules, and see where things go from there.

And frankly, as a participant of the CG, who HAS gained a level since the restart, I was impressed with TF: Athena's resolution to the issue, and believe that FDev should NOT have restarted the CG.

'Nuff said.

let's split the discussion into the two seperate issues...invasion of Mobius using weak RP elements

and the Lockdown forced into the CG system. If the lockdown was the main goal...there was no need to bother the players in Private Groups.

The fact that the mess in Mobius helped the lockdown goal...was just happenstance that gave the players slightly better leverage...basically, the mobius attackers grabbed a passing life vest in a crap storm.

(BTW, nice use of the BGS. Glad someone picked that one up and ran with it.)

I know, kicking with a horses is not for me. There is no way to win, and there is no sense. I have just hope for reasonable approach of FDev.

Their approach is not changing..so now what do you do?

Because already you're proving my point by tarring me with the same brush, because like a few people I'm annoyed at the god modding and incorrect calls for their heads under the EULA. It seems either that people are 100% with you, or against you and there can be no shades of grey.
Right, lets see if we can do this.

The FD meddling was a poor solution to the situation. The effort put into the lockdown was brushed aside, which is not done.
Under the current rules, and by my understanding of the situation, there's no reason for anyone to be banned for breaking any sort of agreement. This would only occur when there was a second attempt. Then it would be harassment.

I think we both agree on this.

Now for the flammable parts.

Going into a private group that has a well known PvE policy, and knowing breaking that is a wiener move.
Attempting to justify the action because those who did were 'trying to prove a point' is a poor excuse. Speculation: it probably occurred out of frustration, which is understandable and could be rectified by: yeah, stupid move on our part, sorry for that. Instead we get: it had no consequences, so why not? I'm not sure that's out of pride, because of a defensive posture or actual sentiment. Since I don't know, I have to go with what's written and assume actual sentiment. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
Lastly, I believe that action did more harm than good. Without it, we'd have a pretty united player base who would be able to give a clear message about the handling of the CG, which Frontier perhaps could have drawn conclusions from. Instead, its the elephant in the room (placed there by the OP, if it hadn't it could have been barred from the thread for being off topic)

So ... I don't think we're 100% diametrically opposed (always wanted to say that) but I don't think we agree 100% either.

Important part: without agreeing or disagreeing with me, do my sentiments make sense to you? Asking, because without understanding discussion cannot be had. And plenty of evidence for that sentiment in this thread I feel :)

And i will move to SC IF it will be released before i get old.

If FD implemented the modes as outlined in KSer then it would be clear in black and white no arguments against the hell mode dB promised us and we would all be clear where we stood regardless of if we agreed or not. Using private groups to implement this with out the tools to make the rules clear and FD forcing them to be upheld is largely responsiible for the mess.

This was a rubbish CG Ill thought out and imbalanced but that is not the fault of Möbius players

I don't find it selfish at all to play the game I bought, which I did indeed verify that solo play was possible after having played WoW up until I reached level where it was group up to do this instance or that instance, where I quit playing. I learned that I had zero interest in playing with others. Elite is one of my most treasured memories in gaming, so yeah, I snapped at the chance of a remake. I was giddy at the first sight in 30 years of the rotating slot of a coriolis station. Even stepped into open in the early days only to be ganked with accompanying messages lifted straight out of Southpark. Quickly decided that was anything but fun and have been playing solo ever since. It still baffles me that to some players, that's some kind of mortal sin that should invoke the wrath of the gaming gods.

And yes, I take great offense at people who invade mobius to pick on those who don't want to be picked on, etc. I make no apologies for that because no apology is necessary. No one of character would ever look kindly upon such actions. That's just the mettle I'm made of, and I'm proud of it.

Some people knew enough about elite fd and this project to pay decent money to get the game made.

Others bought it cheap with no research and expected eve in cockpits and will scream and try to break the game until the get it or move on to their next mistake/game they want to destroy because its not exactly what they want FD have stated many times over the last few years modes are equal and they are not going to change that. It will sink in eventually. The only question is how much damage they do before they move on.

This is a fault of game mechanics, not mobius or other players. Players just got their habits and they are doing things what they used to. So, this is a fault only of FDev.

And Dangerous Games are totally rubbish, because they are not Dangerous at all. There is no any sense to play any CG, because any CG is take stuff from station A and move it to station B.
I can move weights from A to B and this will be more sensible because i get some muscles instead of broken eyes.
