UAs, Barnacles and other mysteries Thread 8 - The Canonn

I did try. Not much and not for long though as I doubted it could really work from a game mechanics point of view. It was a "dead" barnacle though with all pillars destroyed - which is the sad state about all unguarded barnacles seem to be in now. As people are greedy and don't bother to scan and only harvest "ripe" pillars having meta-alloys we'll soon have no growing barnacles at all. If I should find additional barnacles (have been 100& unsuccessfull so far :p) I'll thus not share the coordinates.

I didn't mention barnacles in my post... :p

I'm talking about with UAs and UPs, especially in light of the image that's been recreated, and using it as a reference - like flashing the morse-code letters in order at them.

I may have something here.

UAs point to Merope.

UPs point to Merope 5C.

So...

Coordinates from image for Merope 5C...

-28
-140 (
+/- 2 degrees)

Upper left quadrant marks zero degree point on circle.

Bottom right gives -140 degrees reading from top (see below for reason). Positive 140 degrees doesn't work at all. I've already looked, but you're welcome to try again.

Bottom left gives -28 degrees

Upper right is the nice ringed body you see in the sky constantly and locks down the location to read from. Converting 140 to -140 puts you in a position where all you see when you look up is the nice ringed body, like in the upper right quadrant.

Why is this all relevant?

These coordinates put you right in the middle of a line already drawn by the barnacles (see image).

Allow plus, or minus 2 degrees on either side of these co-ordinates as the line on the image is a tad fuzzy, but it is the best we have.

Coordinates lie along path of the barnacles...

If this is a crash site, then it is logical that if it was transporting barnacle seeds, some have been ejected during the crash.

I am currently at the site (solo mode). But I am having issues with POI on Merope 5C (never had issues before). I can hear the audio cues as I go over, but nothing shows on the radar. I can only look by SRV scans, which is tortuous!

Threw out my other theories and started from scratch as it was getting overthunk. Simple is best (perhaps).

Do with this all information what you will.

Might have been suggested but:

Maybe the actual transmission from the UP is the key itself. Is there a way to determine if any of the permit locked areas outside the bubble are 'in-game' permit locks like Sol and Shinrarta for instance? If so maybe the UP's shutting down of the ship is actually hacking the nav computer allowing us access to certain areas of space? Whatever they are they wan't us to find something...

To those who have experienced the Up' pulse it might be worth checking if anything is different to your ships systems maybe information in the galaxy map or something? Or system map? Maybe the key represent's the system map in some way.

IF you are there
IF you are right
IF there is something for real

probably you need an UP to ''activate'' it (or to turnoff its disguising device)

"Co-ordinates of the Organic Outcrop are at Merope 5c -26.4637 -156.4498"

I was there last night and I found nothing. Nothing at all. That area of Merope 5c was completely empty of anything.
I'll check again but I've been doing this a long time, I'm 99.9% sure I missed nothing.

For the record I don't think you are trolling. I think either the co-ords are wrong or you were just mistaken somehow. It's fine, it happens.

Just to confirm I have been back there and there is still literally nothing there. I think you were mistaken, SpeedMATS. If you see something like this again please get a better picture and more details.

anyone thinks its normal to find this?

I either need a better PC, or a better broadband connection :D

I could be flying over the "stuff" and not even see it!
I have never had issues before now and last night my SRV sank inside the planet. Got a nice view of the big fuzzy core though. Have had to park up again and will try later.

well its gone but ill search araund rock formation benn strange lately here anyway's

also dont u love it when u are on a flat terrain and your ship land 1 kilometer away on the top of a blody mountain?

Did anything useful come out of the last 100 posts of the old thread? Just asking to see if it's worth going and checking it out.

New idea:

1. The Federation finds Thargoid tech -n years ago
2. The Federation begins trying to work with Thargoid tech
3. The 'tech' eats through a transport ship's hull destroying it
4. We find it
5. We go running up to everyone we can find: "Look at this!"

Some Time Later:
1. Someone in the Federation gets a phone call
2. Someone else in the Federation doesn't get a phone call (this would be the president and possibly her immediate cabinet)
3. The majority of the Federation sit by scratching their heads as much as everyone else
4. Mostly everyone doesn't really care.
5. Whoever picked up the phone at 1. cares lots
6. Whoever called cared even more.

Present Time Situation A:
1. "Dude, honk it! ....WOOO!"

Present Time Situation B:
1. (Sometime Later's new President gets a phone call... they are now on anxiety medication and not allowed to speak to the public).
2. The Federation begins an all out ...something
3. "Dude! Check it out! There's Farragut over my head! Selfie!"

Present Time Situation C:
1. Canon Science peoples have a small cry

The Big Questions (In my opinion):
- If it's aliens why not just wave?
- If the Federation lost their little science project as I'm suggesting... where'd it go?
- How would the downed ships with disturbing messages about "These are myth!" fit into this line of thinking?
- Is any of this a valid line of thinking?
