This is what i'm intrigued by. how do we know its an actual thing other than what Kerrash said?

We don't until someone does eight billion missions for minor factions and gets the correct tip-off mission. I'm betting it's already been found, and the guy that found it either didn't care enough to post it here or thought it was normal.

It may be possible that he confused the crashed ships found at some Tip Off sites to be of alien design. Or he did find one. Without further info from him, it's anyones guess.

Something, not in human lingo, not related to KM, cleartext LAT or LONG, or other measuring methods we humans use.
It has be universal.

While [km] are a human construct, pi is not, and as such angles are universal (they have no unit*).
For Long and Lat, there is only so much ways to describe the position of a point on a sphere without making it overly complicated and unpractical.

Just to say that while we can safely discard distances, I would not discard angles yet.

*degrees are not a unit, they are dimensionless. Then there is the though question of defining the origin of a coordinate system, which might be what you alude too.

Not that I can make sense of the thing (yet?), but if it is indeed a key, then where is the damn message XD ?

I with your chain of conclusions on this one iFred, it's been the same approach I've been using myself.
It has to be something that can be decoded from the message.

I'm 100% convinced that arithmetics is a key to understand how to read the rest.

I agree. It's a self-contained package. Just like the morse - both when it gave the nearest body's name; and latterly the ship diagram.

my cargo was damaged a lot by the presence of the UA.
Palin doesn't want me , i made a trip of 5000 ly and he didn't send me the invite.[mad]
I sent a ticket to the support for that

I asked a question on this & was told thats the intro requirement for Palin, but first you have to reach Tier3 with Marcus Qwent, so therefore you need a Sirius permit & you get to him via Elvira.

TINFOILED HYPOTHESIS

Doesn't explain anything, but tries to disprove some things.

I'm traveling back in time (back to newsletter 103), let me grab this part of the history from here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/210108-The-Missing-Thread

In brief The Missing is an encompassing term for everyone who has disappeared without trace in deep space. This includes colonists on the ancient generation ships, lost colonies, disappeared scientific expeditions and a host of others. Some will know from our timeline that many thousands of ‘generation ships’ left the safety of Earth beginning in the 24th century onwards, and headed out into what was then largely unknown – with just some data from probes to guide them. The process was completely unregulated, and many were not as well prepared as they should have been. In those days when faster-than-light communication didn’t exist, many of these potential settlers faced terrible risks alone, travelling thousands of light years into the black, not unlike the wagon trains that set out across continental US in the 18th and 19th centuries before them. Not all were successful at founding new worlds. Most were not. Some managed to return with tails of their adventures. Some were lost in deep space, the dead hulk of their ship carrying on an almost endless trajectory ever deeper into space. Others managed to land and survived for many decades before being overtaken by some local disaster. Some may still be alive, just restricted to low power light speed communications, or no comms at all, as their equipment has failed over the centuries in between. We say they have disappeared without trace, but just maybe some will find some traces of them that are still out there…

The plight of The Missing is just one of the things that will become more prominent over the coming year and the Commanders of the Pilots Federation will be pivotal in solving these mysteries. You can expect more news on this soon.

We have seen some unknown structures floating around as described in here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/264118-23810-Prototype-wrecks-WIP

We will probably find them in the ground as well, as I pointed before:

IF - these UP - are the unknown probes, and these probes happen to be the ones the missing were using, it will explain why they are not alien lost probes and why they don't contain alien encrypted data but something we can understand.

I'm also the proponent of the missing being part of this. Like I said I bet they are in Col70 ad some of humanity know it (corporations and what not) but are secretly dealing with them. We'll find the remnants of that human race has grown significantly and have ships but have "changed" or evolved differently in a short period of time. They will become a new "superpower" in the Orion areas.

Thanks. Will check it out after work tonight :)

"as [someones name in chat?] says if you search hard enough, you will be able to find some of their ships crashed. In 2.1!" "Why aren't you people finding them?" "They're out there! They're out there!" He then goes on to explain about Tip Off missions. Just as he was talking about crashed ships he get's interrupted by one of his guests, and that particular line of thought got washed away.

Could be the non-alien ones then but who knows. Sounds like a dead train of thought until tip-off rng happens.
