I've looked at the first post and am slightly confused. So I'll ask for the purpose of clarity and the avoidance of doubt, the Unknown Probes which have been discovered so far, are they always in the same type of USS? I know we have limited data on this so far. I'm just wondering where to focus my efforts in searching Ross 47 (where I'm just now)

Kerrash is a community mod tho, no one from FD has confirmed that they exist...Kerrash may have a leak or a lead(from FD) but its taken as a pinch of salt as he didnt really give us details other than "They exist"
Plus if its inside info it was deemed slighty unfair to just randomly tease with no substance
Interesting - MB didn't say it's NOT a planet encoded in the sound
Could be interpreted as being able to test if :
a) All Probes encode info relating to a single planet that is Merope 5C
b) All Probes encode info relating to a single planet that is NOT Merope 5C
c) All Probes encode info relating to multiple planets
Given that we haven't cracked the puzzle yet, we can't test for a and b. But we can test for same planet vs difference planets.
I don't think the image captured from th two UP's differs so I would propose it's either a or b. And given than we haven't decoded its meaning yet we can make a leap of faith that's Merope 5C is the planet in question.

Well I've take data from the barnacles before and after their statuses changed to the Canonn Research Centre, so I was kinda hoping the guys might have laid off the biscuits long enough to start looking at it
All true, but I don't have any reason to doubt the guy.
He says he's found it himself in later posts and clung to his story since. I don't see why he would lie/point us in the wrong direction.
You see the thing is I do belive him...But coming into the thread and going "HEY GUYS I FOUND A ALIEN SHIP" and then turning around and saying "but i want you guys to find it first" is well silly...
Considering how hard tip offs are to get(for some people) its unlikely many would notice/find one....But the point is FD themselves have not said "Yep someone has found one" However a mod/streamer who may or may not have more slighty more info than the rest of us has teased about it(even if he did find one)
I don't mean to sound harsh towards you or kerrash tho I'm just bad at english xD
So really so far we have no "Evidence"

Personally, I don't think the moon is yet ready or unlockable - it still doesn't show a red (permit locked) landfall symbol on the system map.

Rizal, size wise, what end of the UP matches the end of the UA? The large one or the small one? Could the UP be the "deployable" version of the UA? Once at it's destination one end opens up and looks like the UA at that point.
Maybe the audio instructions aren't for us, but instructions for the UP/UA. "Go make a shell, monitor, report back."
Also isn't there a specific type of system the UA's are found in. In looking for them in the 135-150 range don't they only show up in systems with metal rich landable worlds? Isnt that the same criteria as barnacle worlds? Could they be looking for "barnacle habital worlds" and deployed as "here's one".
Going off the rails here: Weren't these things said to be "genetically engineered". Barnacles take in metals and produce meta-alloys. Probes/UAs find other suitable worlds for "barnacle factories". It's a colonizing technique. Aliens come later and have all the material they need for construction.

Agreed. I believe he may be mistaken on his conclusions. It's very possible he saw crashed ships - investigate the locations in Tip Offs and there are some, but not alien. He inferred that they were easy to find. Since no one else has yet, I'm going with either he was mistaken, or the mission system for giving out the Tip Offs is borked.
I don't think tip offs are broken, just rare in a sense of *Do 300 missions and you may get one!* which leads to a large amount of RNG or dupes, That or FD releases them over time to be found(Unlikely tbh) and some of them had UA's which could be a "Alien" in a sense
The larger is the "head" that points to Merope 5c.
But you are wrong: UA can be found in ANY system between 135 and 150ly from Merope.
And, to be clear, IMHO I do not think that Barnacles are the reason why the UA/UP point to Merope. 100%. People keep saying it but it's not. Barnacles have been found everywhere. Even MB hinted it a few times.
Surely they are related, for many reasons (sound, appearance, the cloud, etc), but the UA/UP mystery does not include the Barnacles. My opinion.
