The number of people laughing at SC, negative press and the increasing desperation of the fans are all indicative of negative popularity.

More negative popularity? Or more false narratives for this thread?

You think this thread even constitutes the majority of Elite players?

Not many want to buy an unfinished game. But by and large the enthusiasm surrounding Star Citizen is much greater than Elite at the moment.

So many views, so many 'accounts', so much "good" press and so little retention... hmmmm. That does not sound too enthusiastic, specially for a game that continuously is offered for people try it for free, for more than an year now.

Looking to the proportion, ED seems doing a lot better. And both are under development, so, the "alpha" or "not released" excuse used by RSI is old and have no weight here, 2 years after what should be the full release of Star Citizen, specially when RSI consider what they've done so far "substantial" and just "some" features are missing (when writing letters to people to deny refunds or to explain themselves to authorities).

I am, currently the BDSSED. You know that really great game that got released by a developer who isn't currently being both prosecuted and investigated as we speak.

Must not be very engaging gameplay then because that's a lot of dead time to post in the Star Citizen thread [big grin]

The more I look at this, the less impressive it looks.

It looks beautiful ofc but in terms of visuals it could be so much better, I hope they iterate on this quite a bit to get it there.

Yes, it's very simplistic compared to other games (and non-games like Space Engine)

Who cares what people on reddit think of this thread? This little nothing corner of the internet really seems to generate the ire of insecure Star Citizen backers.

I did like how the majority of the first 20 posts went into a detailed discussion of thargoids, UAs, the crashed ship CG and completely Shanghai'ed the OP ;)

Oh...that gives me enough reason to check it out then :D I was just assuming it was a bunch of shade being thrown to match the shade thrown the other way in this thread.

I have a serious medical condition that shares nerve endings with my right shoulder (last 48 hours in hospital, hence my 2 day absence). I have to take pain breaks but the exercise is good especially with joystick resistance cranked right up.

So you'll just need to learn to live with it.

Buy an Idris.

I bet 99% of ED players would trade PowerPlay and Engeniers for Multicrew and Spacelegs in a heartbeat ;)

You must have noticed by now that quite a lot of ED players do not want spacelegs, espescially the old guard. I am not one of them, I am looking forward to it and am glad its on the planning. To suggest the spacelegs is on the same scale as engineers effort-wise is absurd though. Multicrew is 2.3, so not entirely sure what your point is. More importantly: we at least have engineers, powerplay and actual game mechanics. That makes me happy, because a game without mechanics is a tech demo to most.

I would assume that posting in a forum would be just as dampening but anyway, I played Star Citizen for a week with a broken finger because I was having so much fun in AC with the new ships. Guess when you have fun not even pain get's in the way. ;)

It's called having a job that pays a bunch of money for very little work...been between projects for ages, gotta love the telecom industry.

To a similar effect, I'm pretty happy we don't have multicrew or space legs since they've not really explained what purpose they're supposed to serve. I mean, multicrew sounds interesting on the face of it, but how does it really combine with ED gameplay? What are those other people going to do while I stick my nose into earthlikes to gobble up the explorer cash? Launchable fighters have a similar problem: what's the benefit over simply having more people in more ships? That problem has existed since, oh, at least the Planetside (1) days, and I don't think anyone has really come up with a particularly good answer.

SC is no different: it's a neat feature to have on the list, but what purpose will it serve in the overarching gameplay loop?

I like jokes like this, particularly because the rebuttal that is far more humorous is that Star Citizen must be so good that you don't even post on their forums, you go to a competing products forums and post on a Star Citizen thread because the game is so engaging.

Still it's entirely off topic and I don't know why I responded to you.

Actually I notice the opposite, everyone would like space-legs, if only to walk around your hangar and appreciate your hard earned ship, go inside, walk around it. Just look at the countless hours that people spending grinding and grinding to reach that Conda/Corvete/Cutter... Wouldn't it be nice to be able to just appreciate all that effort in first person?
Just a walk-able hangar would do more for the game immersion than Powerplay imo.

If you want the most immersive gaming experience there is going, play anything even ACM from the first person perspective when you are off your head on prescription medicine (this is not a serious suggestion kids, drugs are bad mkay).

The thing is I play ED despite pain, playing SC is pain.
