CIG wishes it looked as good as a ps3 game.

Maybe so, but for some reason, it's still being shown off an awful lot in a 3pv that they'll eventually have to remove.:S 3rd person? You don't even have a crossair/ui in 3rd person view lol
Yeah, yeah, poor CIG, boo-hoo.They new it would be hard, maybe they underestimated the time it would take them to achieve that aimed smoothness, as this is crucial for a FPS game, maybe it also helped with the delay for Star Marine (most likely). The thing is that they succeed in what they proposed to do in the first place. First person and 3rd Person integration
No, it doesn't. It wants to show actions where they happen. That's the whole reason with going for a single set of animations after all: you don't feel the need to show the players what they're doing — you just show them what it actually looks like from a given perspective. If you want the reload animation happen in your “workspace” rather than half off-screen, you animate it as happening in your workspace. If somehow an animation happens to go off outside the player's view, then you don't make a second animation to show it off anyway.Showing the action "in your face" is exactly what Star Citizen wants
If you can tell frontier to fix their search functionality, that would be nice.If you could provide a link, a screenshot or the video of that exact moment that would be nice.

It doesn't matter how hard it was or how they achieved it anyway — tying the camera to the model is an inherently bad idea that causes all the kinds of nasty side-effects we're now seeing them struggle to resolve. They could achieve all their lofty goals without making that amateur design error — we know this because non-amateur designers have done so. And no, you don't want smoothness. You want crispness and direct control, which is commonly completely ruined by any kind of smoothing. That's why it's a common complaint when games (or worse, mouse drivers) ship without any way of turning of smoothing.
Coincidentally, the games that supposedly “do it wrong” still deliver the tiny details you're awed by. That's the whole point here: you don't need to over-complicate things the way CIG has chosen to do it to get those results. In fact, most of the time, that approach just gets in your way, which is what has happened here.

Otherwise, I can only refer you back to the gamescom discussion, where we already went through this.
Anyone have that video where the guy clearly pointed out static shadows in the gamescom demo?
Orlando do you deny that there was ever a static shadow for a dynamic player character in the gamescom demo?
Yes, including 2011 concept art. With some copyright problems here and there.Star Citizen looks like 2011? Wait what?
Biggest point to take from his design and implementation choices for geometry and visuals in general is that he is limiting the potential consumers for the product. ED has the luxury of scaling down quite well - CryEngine has never been known for scaling well and looking at the assets in Star Citizen it won't scale well either.
He's unnecessarily hindering the potential sales of the game by not only focusing on the niche space game audience, but also the niche high-end PC audience.

star citizen, reinventing the wheel. again. this time with cl_bob 0. truly, revolutionary tech. That 60fps video finally makes SC look better anyway.
Noticed it's got a bit quiet now that we know that those emails CIG have been sending out about refunds are not faked.
edit: pretty sure I read something a week or so ago that our brains cancel out the micro movements/head movements by basically not showing us those(ie going black) so we don't get sick. Might try to dig it up later, but for now I have a daughter who needs to go to bed![]()
Those are from a gameplay build. Since when are live demo images photoshopped? I mean this is getting really unreasonable here. You saw the videos from Gamescom or the footages from Live 2.5. It's the same game.

Why do people still believe the earth is flat here? It sounds like you guys are just out to discredit CIG even when there is visual evidence of their graphics quality.
Several of those images ARE photoshopped. You are unreal, you see that city? Don't exist. The Hornet background - doesn't exist. The image of the ship on a surface and a guy sitting there, doesn't exist. The rest are extremely touched up.
