I think trolling is a bit much, I doubt they even both going to that length, especially knowing how certain parts of the community would react to it. It just seems too random, within confined parameters
I didn't keep all of the recordings I'm afraid I deleted them. I don't find it too hard to believe that the audio team would make a random set of sounds play from a prescribed library, to make the whole place seem a little more eerie. In fact that was my first thought before I even started looking into the Spectrograms, the audio in this place is amazing.
I could however be wrong, I'm always prepared to be.
This CG was a prime example that folks will do anything for the money.... Me too, but not this time.

Quite a few people commented here at the start of the CG that they were taking part to see what would happen. The monetary rewards for normal CGs aren't worth the time invested.
The lengths gone to by both FDev and CMDRs in creating and solving the puzzle that led to the CG have left me underwhelmed by the outcome. I only hope there are further developments.

I said I would gloat about it. Best I hold true to my promise. Way to waste... how many pages did you waste discussing this CG?
I know for a fact that the discovery of Abandon Research Base was buried beneath CG discussion. Let me repeat, something relevant to Canonn was buried beneath something irrelevant to Canonn and I called it at the time.
I honestly don't feel happy about this at all. I just want you to know, that maybe sometimes I am not a complete idiot. Maybe sometimes you should put a little more faith in me.
As for the actual science. Well, I am done searching 3A in Col 173 sector blah blah. I am moving on to 8C. After that I plan on doing the rest of 8s moons than move on to the rest of the planets after that.
Absolutely DO NOT take anything here too seriously. It simply my style of humour. It's not meant to be taken seriously. If you don't like it, too bad. The most you get is a little grumpy. Unless a puppy dies every time I make a sarcastic joke, I don't plan on changing any time soon.

Well I've spent the last 2 days searching planet 4 in IC206
Been doing it in low level flight at about 5km, found absolutely nothing, all the planets in the system seem a bit bland, other than their weird orbit lines.
Don't take this the wrong way, but people really have to stop trying to find stuff just using the promo video's, My guess is it really messes everything up.
I understand why it was done, because there's nothing else to do in the game, i think if we had just waited for clues that FDEV were planning to give out, and followed the story path to the clues as they give them. we would find the whole thing much more rewarding, as it is i think we have whatever there is to be found already found.
My reasoning for this is that there has been no comment from anyone from FDEV on this thread, in the last UA/UP puzzles they were dropping tiny hints, or saying when we were way way off.
Have we even solved all the UA /UP stuff yet?
I think we are way way way to far ahead of ourselves, i don't think whatever the ruins point to are even in the game yet, its quite fruitless.
These in game things are a treasure hunt, to keep us occupied till the next patch, when you go and solve it right off the bat from a promo video you skip all that and have the prize, theres nothing else to do until a new patch update comes out.
So in future can we just try to be patient and do things at FDEVS pace.
I think it would make the whole experience far more enjoyable.

IC206, or whatever planet you were searching, is from Mengy's map, not the promo video. Synuefe is from the promo video, and Col 173 is from the elite meet sneak peek.

Oh crap. 8C was the wrong one. It was either 8D or 8B, that was my second choice. 8C was interesting due to the presence of Ice in the Craters and at the poles. That's why I wanted to take a look at it.
They are using the content that was rendered useless by the overwhelming response to Emperor's Dawn CGs....
There were calls for commodities that were never used as the combat CGs took it down another path.... expect more but not Alien related...
I did not participate to the CG, but I suggested to participate, so that the story could unfold.
This is just the first step of it.
Ah... and do not forget it... it's a game we are playing.
Real Life is much worst than this game... were people really do take their decisions only thinking to their self interest....

It happened yesterday: if a complete idiot, full of himself, misogynist, is able to convince millions of people to trust him, well... that's not a game for sure...
Another example on the same score? It happened a couple months ago in GB...
