Deep Recon X - Gateway

If its for Xenon, don't forget to put it on the spreadsheet. The CT will close the mission at the end of November and make a decision based solely on that sheet...

ATTENTION ALL DRX CMDRs

I'm going to be ordering some more of the DRX buttons I created on Frontier's custom merch store.
If you want one PM me your address. I'll be dispatching them as soon as I get them (probably the end of the week, judging from last time)

(No, you won't end up on any mailing lists. Yes, they're free. No, you don't have to pay postage - I'll do that)

RE. GO WEST Expedition......

Just want to say thanks to all those who took part whether for the whole trip or those who popped in from time to time at various points along the way. I'd like to thank the traffic control officer at Gateway....Andrea I believe she's called, for turning a blind eye whilst we first practiced in' around (tm)[yesnod] outside the station on her watch. I'd like to thank the kind folk at one of the Colonia refueling outposts ( I forget which one) for allowing us to race around their brand new starport in SRVs, scratching paint and leaving copious skidmarks [wacky](!) before departing for the Colonia nebula and Jaques Station.

Ahhh....Jaques. I'd just like to thank the big guy for being there. This would have been impossible without him providing a midway rest point. A small thanks to the guy in the Anaconda outside Jaques who thought it was fun to ram all our ships.[???] A special thanks to @GaryR for taking the time to get to know our crazy gang and coming along for the ride. It was a pleasure and appreciated... (hope you stick around:)) A special thanks to JT442 for the race to the Myoangooe nebula and an even bigger one for discovering the geysers there.[up]

So, thanks to all those who've returned or are returning home and to those all alone in the night at various points still, out there in the black. You were all AMAZING! ITS BEEN A BLAST! And if you stick around, just wait for what's coming...Go West was just the prologue!.................(phew! No ones mentioned the Brokeback Nebula incident :x)...............(ahhh S**t!)(edited)

Not allowed too, I'm being spread to thin. still about 47K out. Going to be a long trip back.

Stay shiney o7

I WAS headed for Colonia to sell all my shiny data, then I noticed that Sag A* is 4Kylies closer. SO, yeah, I'm going be taking a roughly 50 Kylie trip back to the bubble in time for 'Second Homecoming'...
Wish me luck...

Let's hope the space gremlins are kind and the route planning is quick, o7

Well, I'm heavily on it. JONKING all the way. But with a 30ly range, I have my work cut out.
On which note DRX Deputy Wing Co. Dell Tarrant has conducted an experiment into whether the Neutron highway is worth the time and risk...
(Dell?! DELL!!!)

Good luck, I'm at similar point. A virtual crossroads, SagA or Jaques. Decisions got side tracked by a little group of Neutrons.

Yep....the results are in and......Using the Neutron Highway I managed 2309 ly in an hour. And with standard jonking I managed 2413ly. So the conclusion is that in my current ship with a 50 ly range, theres no benefit to the super highway!.......

Incidently, this was in an Anaconda with a grade 5 FSD upgrade. And I had pre-plotted the waypoints prior to starting the test, so the result could have been theoretically worse..

Yes, the general consensus seems to be that the time spent supercharging your drive, detracts from any speed advantage long distance neutron hopping gives you, sadly :(

+1 for the sciencing though! :)
