[CCN] The Christmas Carriers Convoy

@ Qohen Leth, I am number 230 on the signup sheet. Can you change my ship name from FP Tundra to FP Midnight Shadow?

And keep up the good work. Loved the video by the way.

Not exactly Icefire. I was told, page 16 post 232.... that 128T on a cutter qualifies as a carrier. On my build that means ditch the fighter for two class 6 cargos. I asked this question of the organisers, they responded that 128 on that build qualifies as carrier.

Got a bit drunk last night and replied to the wrong thread. Still a bit hazy after reading the OP - can you give me the TLDR version (I'm starting to like that phrase :) )? Namely, what are the requirements, in terms of cargo, etc, without all the "your Galaxy needs you" dogma? I may or may not sign up, depending on how committed I can be (I'll know nearer the time), but it sounds like it could be fun to tag along anyway. Haven't been to Colonia since before the 2.2 Beta.

I think the last two posts answer my question. Far too complicated for my tastes. Good luck chaps, but I won't be joining you.

I missed the Fleet section that describes what a Carrier can carry as far as weapons are concerned when I signed up. I carry 300 tons of cargo but I also have 3 3D modded beams and a huge MC. I was also thinking about hauling out some 2D Beams for my Python which I'll send for when I get there. Are requirements that strict and I need to change over to freelancer or am I good to go as is?

Hi Qohen,

Can you change:

326 Pobelter EcsMaple US Freelancer ASP Explorer

to:

326 Pobelter EcsMaple US Freelancer Anaconda

Thanks!

Pobelter

I'm afraid you're falling out of the Carriers RP. Point is to need an Escort, if you don't, you're logically a Freelancer ;)

Yeah see your point. Don't want to use up escort resources when I can kick some a-- on my own. Freelancer it is then. Can you switch me over?

I believe my T-9 full of cargo and other items runs just over 19Ly fully laden. I am hoping to get it over 20Ly but I need to do some more grade 5 FSD range upgrades to try an max that out. I thought I heard/saw somewhere that anything less than 20Ly will make your trip more difficult, but people have gotten out there and back on 15Ly jump ranges.

I really do appreciate all the info on the cutter but I am not taking the cutter. I am flying the T-9. I am not even close to getting a cutter. But if and when I get there (maybe after the CCC) I will take all of your notes into consideration.

Awwww... i've seen (to late) that carriers limited in weaponry. Only 2 lasers. D:
Meh... i dont want to sell my engineers weaponry and want to carry them to colonia to work there. T_T (And im not good in PvP for an escort, so only freelancer is possible.) ;_;
Transfer costs should be very high for colonia. ~_~

Fitted my conda now with 26 ly range laden. In full equipment and cargo. Should be enough... i try to max it now.
That grind... ._.

You can always store your weapons in the bubble and have them shipped out to Colonia when you arrive.

I'm using it to be able to go completely unarmed and with downgraded shields for cargo space.

Looks like I am in the same boat. Spent to long modding the weapons to give em up now.

Roster # 131 is shamed to request a transfer to the Freelancer fleet. If the Stratotankers could use another ship, I'll be happy to help.

Should be fun to see what job I have next time I check the roster :D

Before I updated the OP, it said 'a couple lasers', but it seems a lot of Carriers were going to fit whatever they wanted. I'm not going to check everyone on the roster to make sure they only have 2 lasers :D so if you really want to bring your weapons, bring them, but offline and if you take part in the main launch, be aware that the Escort is not expecting armed Carriers. So they may get a bit edgy.

As Gunnet said, you don't have to give up your modules, just transfer them with a transition ship (that you will have fitted before you go!).

My cutter is fitted with pulse lasers. The weakest type of weapon. No armour upgrades. That's a defensive trader build not a fighter build. No point leaving the slots empty. On a cutter that weight will not be hitting jump range.

As for RP 128T of coffee is not OOC for someone off to a new life taking whats needed to survive there, like a class 8 FC for future exploring or shields seeing as there is talk of aliens.
