So how do you get around the Microsoft induced primacy of gamertags that FD can't control?
Easy, they tell the xbox peas.. er player they have to change their gamer tag if it conflicts with an existing master ra...er PC user.

So I'm out exploring and come across a system I have yet to visit, only to find that I have actually visited it, because its got my name on it, even though I've never been there before.
Our commander name identifies us in the game.. This is idiotic. [wacko]
Advice only works when what is suggested isn't "silly". If I want to call out silly things I will. I'd put suicide jokes under the "silly" things category. This sentence haha.
Also I'm not I'm merely pointing out why he blocked you. take it as advice. not criticism. Although I'm sure to you they're one in the same.
Elder scrolls online and Dark souls 3 both use gamertags and usernames....as does Neverwinter. That is just off the top of my head.It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they saw players being able to use an ingame name other than their Microsoft Xbox Live Gamertag™ as a threat to some part of their business model.
.
I'd rep this, except Cosmos is Banned/Suspended.

Seeing PC players make stuff up like that on the spot though is amusing.
*edit looks like the whole forum put Cosmos on their block list. Good thing he blocked me lol
Now I want to get a xbone account just so I can kill me.

I see what you did there! Unfortunately, I would totally combat log on me.
On Xbox One the Commander name is their gamertag, which isn't controlled by us.

Except it is not a big deal nor are two people ever likely to meet like that.Sounds like you guys should have thought of that when you started thinking of porting the game to consoles.

Even if it did happen if anything people should rejoice that such a event with such a miniscule probability of happening happened at all.
Agreed. It wouldn't be a deal at all if they had thought about thus before porting. I can see how this could cause problems on a DB shared by all version.

Do you like...have proof for that?I've had people take my name on other games, game forums, and perhaps social media platforms intentionally as well to spite me, if not worse – sorry for party rockin'. "WR3ND" can't be that common, which is one of the reasons I chose it in the first place.
This is a potential issue, IMO...
I suppose if you live an ignorant life you would not understand why it is not that funny to mock suicidal people because you find it funny. I have seen people intentionally try and make others commit suicide by harassing them, knowing perfectly well what their state of mind is. To say that it was disgusting is a understatement, they found it funny, hilarious that they could potentially make someone do that. And they did it because they despised the fact that the people they targeted existed.I don't think telling you not to get your knickers in a twist over a joke in a game Forum is "silly" advice.
But whatever, if you want to call out "silly" things. go ahead. If I want to make funny jokes at others expense, I will.
