The CODE messing with Yum Kamcabi system and the CG

So, we have a problem at this point in time. We have the code ruining the CG by unfairly interdicting people, and either ending them or forcing them to drop their stuff with the threats of killing them. I myself am sick of this and would like to get a group of strong players to run them out. Who would like to join me?

The warning went out over a week ago that this would happen advising everyone to either avoid or do in solo...Im guessing ye missed that thread ^

That sounds a lot like pirates are being pirates, more than anything else. I'm all down for that. Keeps things interesting, and creates the fun role of bounty hunter / trader defender / sheriff. I had a good time occupying / driving off self-declared pirates, tonight.

You have been warned since a long time so go private or solo. I think it is really good what they are doing actually.

I might not like pirates per se, but there's nothing wrong this time they're doing.
All it's happening in gmae and well within game mechanics; not only there's also wasy countermeasures- Solo or Private.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Stay out of Open? Warned? Hehe...
Awful lot of self-stroking in here. Might be time to increase your O2 flow rate.
The only Cmdr's encountering pirates are those that want too or don't care.
You "emergent content" guys really need to stop trying so hard to be relevant.

Well.. they're pirates. Avoid them, pay them, or yes, get a few pilots togther and fight them off. They're not ruining anything. Quite the opposite, as the whole pirate/trader/bounty hunter dynamic is central to any game like this. The fact they actually take your cargo and don't just blast you into meat pieces on sight is not only refreshing, it should be encouraged, not complained about. :)

I am not Codes biggest fan by any means, and they have done some borderline 'dodgy' stuff previously, no question about it, but c'mon, lets not demonise one of the few true PVP pirate groups we have.

CG's and "hot" trade routes attract pirates. The Code are pirates. Therefore I'd be completely unsurprised to find them plying their trade there.

@OP, if you succeed in your stated aim of gathering a group of PvP players to protect the CG by trying to run them off, I'm sure they'd love you for it and would take on your group with enthusiasm. More power to you both and post vids of some of the more memorable scraps - they'll make good watching :)

It is good to hear that the CODE are blockading in a fair role play way. By all means organise resistance to this if that is what you want to do, this too is al good stuff but you should not shout and curse them for role playing properly. Setting up a ship for blockade running is fun as is testing your skills at evading them in supercruise. With a fast enough ship and well equipped ship then you can even try to get away from them in normal space if you like or just high wake out, or stand and fight if you are up for it.
.
No I don't like pirates per say and have been on the wrong end of them in the past but I am not going to curse a well organised and well played pirate group. This is so much better than bored PvPers hanging around at a CG and randomly blasting people for kicks.

I didn't say he wanted commanders to resist the blockade - I said he wanted people to join him in combat.

I don't know his motives or intentions other than wanting strong players to kick Code.

Guess this follow up post by the OP kind of clears up the confusion regarding "talking"

<shrug> Pointless discussion anyway - I can't help him, and I should really be doing my work :(

the reason i want strong players is because i dont want the weaker ones/ones with less money to loose their stuff.

We follow the Code of Pirates. Give us cargo and we let you go, refuse and you may see a rebuy screen. Follow our instructions and you'll make it out alive every time, with a pirate tale to tell ;)

Piracy is a good way to insert some PvP into an otherwise PwP CG. We look forward to counter-attacks from bounty hunters. Perhaps traders can travel with a couple combat ships winged with them for protection?

i only managed to get one other person, it was me and another combat conda, but the cutter, clipper and FDL that were pirating the system, ran off for about an hour or so, then i had to log off so idk what happened after that.

Have been to YK a few times since the CG started.....could just be coincidence but I haven't seen any sign of pirate interdictions (above normal levels that is).

just had a good run in with the Code - robbed and then "saved" by them when a non-code cmdr interdicted me.

Thanks, you know who you are!

tbh i was cross that i can easily avoid npc interdictions, but vs a human even keeping the crosshairs in the circle the red bar kept increasing, so i had to submit straight away.

I like your banner, respect for flying a T7 in open! And for not being salty about pirates.

We would have loved for that to happen, we were getting bored!!

And lol at "unfairly interdicting people"! Really?!

Please join him guys and try to run us out!

And they announced the blockade ahead of time, in the most public way possible. I'm not a fan of ganking, but I'd appreciate some good RP piracy. Of course, the blockade wasn't really piracy. Have the 13th Legion been offering a chance to leave the system?

That was the group of "edge lords who shall not be named", not us. We don't announce anything, just expect us to be there!

I should point out I'm not against you gathering a group to counter them... that's good too. It's how this whole thing is supposed to go....
Pirates prey on traders, giving the traders the option to either stealth/run the blockade, or recruit/hire escorts.
Bounty Hunters are attracted to counter the pirates (and if they aren't you should be bribing them with loot).
Pirates have to flee or switch from loot-carters to combat loaded ships. Or they can try to keep pirating while running when the pimped-out Corvette starts raining fire on them.
Look! Look at all that wonderful gameplay and engagement - all because the pirates did us the kindness of playing the role of pirate.

Your post is Code approved and the winner of this thread. Thank you.

Commander biscuit i do agree, but the entire premise of piracy is not fair. Even if one ship turned up it would always be an unfair match. No pirate in his right mind would turn up in a trade fit ship trying to pirate a trader. It will be well armed and defenced(shields etc) to win the piracy attempt. The best piracy imo is the one where you dont have to fire a shot, when a wing of say 3-tes jump you and demand a cargo dump or you just leave the system. Overwhelming statement of force is a valid tactic.
The end of the day, piracy in its entire profession is never going to be fair. The way the op out his op to me sounded as if the way they were pirating was unfair, when infact its probably one of the fairer / just / moral (as can be for that profession) way they could go about it, they gave warnings and/or demanded cargo dumps.

We can go on about how the entire profession of piracy is unfair or immoral etc, but to me how the first post was written suggested that these pirates were being unfair by the tactics they were employing, which just isnt so, hence my replies.

What you describe is exactly what we do, and more often than not the trader runs which gets them killed. That's after multiple attempts at communication and demands to stop or die. Once that happens, the Type 6 that runs from a wing of Cutters and Pythons carries the responsibility of what happens next.
