The CODE messing with Yum Kamcabi system and the CG

Be glad that its the CODE and not the other people. The CODE are fairly reasonable pirates in game. Just give them what they ask and move along. I have never gotten interdicted by them more than once in any system. Sometimes they even escort you to the station so no others will interdict you.

The rest of the non CODE groups are for the most part just killers with no interest in money.

Define fair. It requires minimally agreement between the two parties of interaction.

The pirate has their reference point and the trader theirs and they are not in agreement.

Nor was the OP and the last meal that involved any form of awareness be it a plant or animated flesh of any sort. But the OP still devoured it and shall again and again---But its not fair! P

Thus the term fairness is as relevant as the word "try"

just had a good run in with the Code - robbed and then "saved" by them when a non-code cmdr interdicted me.

Thanks, you know who you are!

tbh i was cross that i can easily avoid npc interdictions, but vs a human even keeping the crosshairs in the circle the red bar kept increasing, so i had to submit straight away.

Great Game role play. I applaud it and will particapate in trying to out run the blockade when i get back home and back in the game.

So, we have a problem at this point in time. We have the code ruining the CG by unfairly interdicting people, and either ending them or forcing them to drop their stuff with the threats of killing them. I myself am sick of this and would like to get a group of strong players to run them out. Who would like to join me?
What you call "ruining," the CODE see as game play.

They are well within their rights to interdict you in Open. That's part of the game and you can't pick and choose what sort of interactions you get, especially in Open.

Calling for players to oppose them is a perfectly viable option as well. Game on.

That was the group of "edge lords who shall not be named", not us. We don't announce anything, just expect us to be there!

Sorry about the mistake, but the linked reddit thread was explicitly 13th Legion, even if it was an imperial combat group. Is there some inter-faction division I'm not aware of?

That sounds a lot like pirates are being pirates, more than anything else. I'm all down for that. Keeps things interesting, and creates the fun role of bounty hunter / trader defender / sheriff. I had a good time occupying / driving off self-declared pirates, tonight.

You definitely kept us busy! I transferred my Vulture so we'd have a real fight on our hands but you left :|

And I wish the other "PVP" griefers would understand that as well. Piracy is fine even if its a bit fantastical.

However the non thematic non pirate griefing groups are more of a virus and add nothing to the game. Just like viruses we dont know why they attack us, they cant be reasoned with, hardly anything if anything at all stops them, they constantly find new invasive vectors in which to infect, and do more harm than good. Not only do they consume the host they try to consume all hosts until nothing left is alive including themselves. A self defeating organism.

So I say bring back the Code and hope that it opens FDEVs eyes on how real open PVP should be conducted.

Someone's blockading a system and either killing commanders or forcing them to drop cargo? Hell, sign me up for this. Sounds like proper PvP blockade and/or piracy gameplay to me. Just because they have the odds in their favor doesn't make this sealclubbing. Especially with you having the ability to wing up with an escort if you so desire...

I'm in the top 50% for the CG (all in open) and up until today hadn't been interdicted once. There were Annies & FDLs flying cover up until today tbh.

When I jumped in today, both into the CG & some nearby systems I was interdicted by cmdrs (cos I didn't fly clever in supercruise) but each time I had a demand for a percentage of cargo which I begrudgingly agreed to.

No comms and I would have high waked.

Next time I'll fly smarter!

You don't reason with viruses either, silly.

You eradicate them utterly by finding the treatment that destroys them and purging them from your system.

Last I checked, superior firepower worked. Get to it.
