Patch Notes Update 2.3 The Commanders Beta - Changelog

quick question if I may.. If we spend the time creating our characters in Beta will we be able to import them into the non beta version when it is live?

Nope.
So take screenshots of the settings you used. It'll make setting up your Live avatar easier. :)

I'm a bit nervous about the limiting of 3 quests for everything. CZ's were only fun because you could stack so many (the profit was only okay I hope it was adjusted a lot) and I haven't even tried to get fed rep for a corvette yet (just finally finishing my imperial rep after a year). I'm nervous it's going to take me a really really long time to get federal rep now. So many have corvettes and cutters unlocked already, I really hope rep was adjusted since it only says rewards increased not sure if it was only monetary.

They had to fix it sooner or later as it was an exploit. I don't have a cutter or corvette either. Just do the regular missions and help out famine, boom, outbreak etc.. slowly but surely. I do CZ's ocassionally for bgs and powerplay.

* Updated cockpit chairs to allow for more elbow movement
- Thank goodness for that, those chairs were a little cramped :D

* Decouple normal missions and passenger missions selection, so a full allocation is available to each type
- If I'm interpreting this right then this is MAJOR.. I think this means that you could have 20 active passenger missions and another 20 regular missions stacked!

* Reduced exploration rank boost from passengers as it was way too high
- Absolutely! As someone who has earned my elite exploration rank the old fashioned way by actually exploring it really irked me that someone could spend a couple of days grinding passenger missions and get elite explorer without actually doing any exploring!

* Detailed Surface scanner (affects how fast you can basic/detailed scan planets):
Long Range
Wide Angle
Fast Scan
- Explorers get some love, Yay!

* Increased the credit values of exploration data for scans after this release. Unsold data from previous scans is unaffected by this change.
- As above, more explorer love! [heart]

* Lava Spouts now have proximity effects around them. Depending on the ferocity of their eurption, they deal heat and damage to the player. The more ferocious the eruption, the hotter and more damaging they become
- These sound really intriguing, must find some!

* All ship explosive effects improved
- When it comes to explosions, bigger is always better!.. BIG BOOM! :D

* Fixed SRV shield generator and sine wave scanner not remembering if they are disabled or not
- Another thing that has irked me since the start of Horizons, thank goodness it is finally fixed.

* Starports can now be injected via server updates
- So this means that new ports can be added far more easily and regularly.. This is HUGE

* Red Spider Nebula is now red
- Very grateful that we can now bask in its redness properly :D

* Don't allow ships to fly backwards in a ring orbiting a black hole to sneak through the exclusion zone
- Have to admit, I've never come across a black hole with a ring yet, but this sounds like a good fix.

Why on Earth was it not in the patch notes that the bug of the 'planet sounds in the system map stopping while the FSD is charging' has been fixed after a year!

Woohoo! Thanks so much.

So... has anyone tried wiping their save? is it like the last Beta?

By last beta I guess you mean the combat one where it was specifically said you would get billion credits and access to everything? No is the answer, it's like every other Beta.

Not if you look at the unlock requirements for the Rank 5.

Ah ok... thanks for the reply... Was hoping engineers would be unlocked to try the lightweight sensors mod on an exploraconda build... hence your updated comment
