Well, the title says it all, the only Distress Signal fun was one involving one Farragut Disabled with 3 pirates roaming around, but the reward was the bounty on the pirates, but I mainly speak about the ones of a ship without fuel (lets give the fuel rats some "PvE"!!!), you can help them and... nothing??? Didn´t notice if there is a buff of influence/reputation with the faction of the ship, if someone knows about this, please tell me.
Maybe we can even improve a bit the Distress call with Damaged ships asking for repairs and some modules to make repairs, or some cargo that must be dropped near the ship, or materials, much better since you COULD MAKE USE of some of the materials, something like "hey dude I need some mechanical parts, sulfur, and wake signals to make repairs", so you get close enough to the ship (nice docking animation maybe?) and there comes up a trade menu, maybe something like "I need 200 repair points, which materials could you provide?" Then there is a menu with some materials but you can reach the 200 points several ways, giving rarer materiales (lets say 20 points each rare), or common ones (1 point each common)
Sometimes there is a pirate trap, wouldn't be better if the pirates appear when you are docked with the other ship? (The other ship could or could not be part of the trap)
This way we can "spend" materials in an interesting way and save the "Distress Call" signals, I usually do not drop on them since they are very unrewarding.
And of course some payment for the materials, or reward, if you can't repair them maybe have the option of carrying some items like "Ok, dude don't worry about me but I need you to carry this data/cargo/passenger to XXXX system for me!"
Ideas? What do you think?
