How do YOU regain your ED mojo?

So, I've been going through a patch of not playing ED much. At all. Hence my patchy participation here over the past several weeks too.
I've misplaced my mojo. It's coming back. It always does. But it's taking its time.
What do YOU do to get yourself back in the game?
Yes, I know it's heresy to make the excuse that so many other games have called for my attention, but that's what happened only now I want back into my favourite game.
I need suggestions for what I should do to get my game back on.

Well we can always go into CQC and do some championship as we did this Christmas...

I wish I could help but I've never stopped playing Elite

Sorry, I did not mean to "Double Edge" you. I don't want the game to be arcady as a matter of fact I wish some things required more skill, but sometimes it is so annoying to have refer to other sauces for things that should simply be there in the game. My Life is too stressful at the moment and I just find this painful rather than fun.,

No offence was taken, BillD.
I'm sorry that RL is taking its toll. I hope that you have something else less painful to play. We all surely play ED and the like to get away from stress, not to accrue more.
(Master difficulty on Titanfall 2 is wearing me out a little right now - sigh. Time for Space Giraffe maybe)

When Horizons first dropped the constant buzz crashes annoyed me so much I stopped playing, and got back into it just before Guardians,

Ended up playing WOT (as frustrating as that game can be, light tanks are fun to play) , Hitman and replaying Red Dead Redemption, and played other game a little,

The break certainly helped though as since then I've barely played another game, I try to keep it varied though now, might be pirating one day, CZs the next, missions another, and sometimes I'll just head to large high security bases to assault in my SRV which is pretty fun,e.g trying to dodge railguns/missiles while scanning data points

If I may interdict a little, light tanks are fun to play if you have a good team behind you.

You're playing WoT.

You do not have a good team behind you.

haha very true, I tend to do pretty well most of the time even if my team is trash. If I've learnt one thing in that game it's never assume greens will do anything useful.

With elite now the main focus is an engineered ship, a fun goal which pays off in the end but gets boring quick, micro resources and invite requirements can bite me.

I'm coming back from a four-month hiatus myself. Was on my way to Jaques Station when I stopped playing, obviously you know this Iconoclypse :p. I'm slowly coming back and will continue my long trek to Jaques Station, Sag A, and eventually Beagle Point...

What got me to come back was a combination of a few things. The news of 2.3, listening to Lave Radio, Dark Matter show, NASA's discovery of the 7 earth like planets, and The Expanse show. The last one was a big one as it just always reminds me of the game.

I also just miss the black of space and being in my ship.

New mass effect in 3 weeks...just sayin ^

I saw that, but it's going to be maaaany years before I get to try that one out. I didn't even play ME 1 until ME 3 was about to launch, haha. Got it from Gamestop back when I lived down south in Milwaukee.

In regards to ME4, you probably still don't get to fly your own ship, hard to compare to Elite as they are not the same type of game.

Since Bioware sold their soul to the devil EA, they haven't been the same studio. ME was good but I got to the end and never beat it because of the disappointing story ending which was complained about by most people who bothered to finish it. Which is a shame because the first two games were so great. The ending very much reminds me of the Matrix Triology. The first movie was absolutely great, the second was still pretty decent, but the third? What happened? I am disappoint. The poo that was mistaken for an ending ruined the entire trilogy for me. For this reason alone, I will not preorder ME Andromeda. It looks great from the trailer but anyone can make a trailer look good- #willnotbesuckeredagain

To say I'm taking a wait and see approach is an understatement, hopefully Bioware/EA can redeem themselves, maybe they will win me back, lol

In regards to the wanna-play-the-2.3-update-itis, I think it's a real thing. It's similar to that feeling you get the night before a big game releases. A game that you have been waiting to play for ages and have been salivating over for the final 30 days before it releases. All of a sudden all of your most fun games seem....boring. They may have been fun yesterday but suddenly, not so much today. Then you end up watching a bad Sci-Fi movie instead, just to pass the time.

It hasn't hit me fully yet but I know it's coming. Right now I'm too busy with my new disdain for Fujin Tea, and it's very limited supply of 5t. I hate you engineers (no really baby, I love you...I didn't mean to say.....)

Aye, I'm still kinda wait-and-looksee with Andromeda...as much as I enjoyed the other 3.

Viper IV.

That little ship can take a beating. If I'm ever feeling rusty I take her out till I feel like I've got my space-legs back.

I either swap to my smaller ships (Vulture or Viper IV) and do a little big-fish hunting or some assassination missions. I love to cause trouble with my Frag Vulture.

Or I play Warframe or League on my computer. Did a long run last week as one of my friends came back from deployment and needed to get his feet back into Gold.

Me personally, I watched some videos of new and upcoming features, also read a lot of stuff here on the forums and in the DRX wing over on INARA. I started thinking and planning what I would do first when I started playing again, and stood out at nighttime watching the stars. I watched documentaries and read books about space and the universe, all things that interest me greatly. Doing all that, eventually the call of the void just becomes too much to resist.

Elite Dangerous is my favorite most loved game of all time, could never give it up for good o7

at the moment .... from my experience , its a good game ... but im finding the mechanics a grind in general. For example, why the grind with engineers? why the grind hoping... ill get that fed rank upgrade ( if at all ) ..... the bubble? why ? surly just populate it all with well, like whats in the bubble and add strange aliens in the mix . Im thinking its just a money grab , or are we all just a meal ticket - i see no , finished product, more a "we are the beta testers " or a very long term experiment , while in the mean time we all get grey in the process ...

I see endless chit chat with regard to upgrades with ships and this n that... its all very micro , but we are all in the macro ... but the macro - ie what we are part off , isn't being addressed .. presently i see cockpit walk abouts??? ( micro ) err yea ... right ... these things should really have been done on release ..... as each update happens ... its like 6 months.... to me this game will die due to this pattern ... the entire procedure is ...SLOW.... YES SLOW. why the drip drip with the aliens ? Elite in the 80`s just had aliens already , but for some reason we have a cinema thing letting us know there's aliens coming ... why not just let the aliens be live now ? as it stands ... im sorry im not impressed . Ok so ill get the usual trollish ( unless ive put you on the list already - and yes its active ) ... frontiers problem , i think , is they have bitten off more than they can chew .... as for this 4 billion stars arguement ... keep the stars and use that new term - procedural whatever to populate said stars ... cant be so hard now can it ?

Or don't read the thread, that's an option.

Question: "How do you get your ED Mojo back"
Answer: "Walking around the cabin should have been done on release"

Also, your little rant is just...wow. Wow. There's nonsense, but this is on a whole new level.

For the sake of your sanity, people, spare yourself. Do not stare into the abyss.

I was disappointed that they didnt mention automated landing gear again.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I just go play something else for awhile. Eventually I get 'The Captain's Itch' again.

Elite is really fun, but it's not the only game out there worth your time. :)

Eh, idk. I don't think I can. Maybe when 2.3 drops i'll check the game out again but until then, meh. I just login and look around thinking of what to do. Exploration? Boring and pointless to me. Bounty hunting? boring and tedious, Plus i've done it so much i'm burnt out on it. Trading/passenger missions? can be quite chill, but time consuming.

My main problem is that I generally only get a couple hours a day to play games if I'm lucky. And everything in ED is too time consuming and tedious for me to bother with it. Hell only reason I came back to the forums was to check and see if there was any news on 2.3.
