Hi,

I'd like to make sure we have a handle on all the devices you guys use or will use for Elite: Dangerous. If you can run dxdiag from the start menu in windows and then select the Input tab at the top you'll see a list of connected devices. If you select the devices you use and then find the Product and Vendor IDs for them displayed there you can post them here with the name of your device. In that way I can make sure our game knows about said device as it'll make sharing control schemes around for it easier.

If your device is posted already with the same IDs there is no need to post again. I want unique devices that you guys actually use as this will be the fastest way to populate the file I need to with the right stuff.

Cheers,
-Mike

Really don't know why it lists the X55 twice unless it is once for 32 bit and once for 64 bit. 64 bit is the one I run in.

Also using the software programs VoiceaAtack and Tracknoir

Tried searching this thread and didn't find any Logitech G13 Gameboard so here it is (shows up as 2 devices):

Name: G13
VendorID: 0x046D
ProductID: 0xC21C

Name: Logitech G13 Joystick
VendorID: 0x046D
ProductID: 0xC2AB

The thumb stick is working in-game as a 2-axis analog stick with one button, and that is just fine (better than most games which refuse to let me use it alongside a mouse). I presume the one called 'G13' is the keyboard part.

I had to unplug my g13 as it stole the 1st joystick port from the rhino x55 hotas. Played havoc with the control having the throttle and joystick swapped about.

I have a Speedlink Black Widow Flightstick. No idea of the model but I'm sure others have replied on that previously.

My question is: Are there any 'standard' or 'best practice' set-ups to set the buttons to? I've never used one before now and being new to the game its all a bit "whaddoIdo?"

I have a Leo Bodner, BUO836x based home made controller in the works. Will Elite be able to work with something like this?

Should do. Is it a button box or a converted joystick?

New to game, Thrustmaster controller

I have splashed out on the Thrustmaster Warthog Joystick and Throttle.
Question..do I try to use the TARGET software that comes with them, which means having the program running in the background, I believe? Or, do I use the default set up in game and modify that as best I can?

Lets not forget now, Please give us full and proper Force Feedback joystick support.
And not forgetting xbox one trigger FFB and rumble as well.

There are forces and effects that can be represented absolutely everywhere on a space craft via haptic feedback. Landing gear operation, landing and take off forces and vibration, atmospheric flight - both entry and exit, atmospheric exit thrust forces, impacts in asteroid fields and with other space objects including other ships or docking manoeuvres, ballistic weapons fire vibration, combat damage vibrations from ballistic weapons fire and missile hits to shield impacts. Then three could be the vibration forces from using afterburners or sudden reverse thrust. And even some opposite force when nearing high g-forces, or high ships hull stress limits - a slow force building up, and then maybe a stick shaker reminder.

I would expect to see a couple of settings or more in the advanced controller options eventually to adjust the amount of force feedback. This would seem a logical step to take. And other options, but I'd leave that to the dev's to decide upon. Certainly some advanced force feedback options would be great to have so one can fine tune the experience.

Plus anyone using a force feedback stick in Elite will need the auto centring addressed, most have the optical sensor to detect when the grip is held. So some section in the games settings/advanced joystick controls will need to have force feedback centring options. And many more I hope to further adjust force feedback options, such as strengths and maybe limiting where FFB is used. Then also having the option to manually edit the games *.ffe files (haptic feedback effect files).
