It's not all happy unicorns and butterflies out in the black!
Wait a minute. That's why I got this game. Oh, heck.
It's not all happy unicorns and butterflies out in the black!
I say, call in the Fuel Rats, call in the 5th Fleet, the Children of Raxxla, everyone who isn't part of this silly gambit for attention, and have them play the starter systems in a way that will prevent a lockdown. Problem solved!

If true, that's pretty sad that people would stoop to that level.

No idea how true it is and some of it obviously will not work (seal clubbing) but somebody probably needs to keep an eye on this.
Meh I am not worried, not enough of them and too short a time to make any significant impact to BGS or to new PS4 players. The likelyhood of meeting those gibbons will be minimal at best.
Now is the time to get really giddy CMDR's, time is almost up! o7

Mind explaining Engineer Day? I know it was when FD found and fixed a bug from the Engineers that made players have game breaking ships but was there more to it?
It's not the ships that were game breaking - it is entirely possible to get similar (or even better) rolls legitimately. It's how they got them that was the problem. Essentially it went something along the lines of aborting a grade 1 roll, glitching the menu, then starting a grade 5 roll. Rather than use extremely rare grade 5 engineers mats for the roll they managed to force the game to use the common grade 1 mats instead. This meant that they could happily roll all day until they got the highest rated grade 5 roll they could possibly get & keep it.
Rinse & repeat for all possible modules & they successfully cheated their way to a god rolled ship, or 2, or 4, 10 etc.
Of course this sparked off an arms race between groups whom felt "forced" to do the same to keep up with their god rolled opponents because "everyone else was doing it" (rather than report the offending CMDRS). it spread to the wider public where serial gankers, griefers all did the same as did some members of the public at large that "did it out of curiosity" (honestly guv), or felt it affected nobody because "they play in solo" (conveniently forgetting that every action they do on the shared BGS affects it for all players).
FD took all their ill gotten gains away - and all legitimately rolled ones in the same category as while they could see the exploit was used, they couldn't directly tell which exact ones were legitimate or exploited. Players who cheated their way to greatness woke up one morning & discovered that all they had was lost, even those who just upgraded "6/7 modules out of curiosity" and "played in solo" (honest guv) and even then "only a little bit". Even those who "rolled but didn't accept the result" (honestly guv) found their engineered modules had been taken away...
Oh they monked, they moaned they went to reddit and wailed (knowing that sympathy was sorely lacking on the official forums) "it's not fair!" they cried "I cheated my way fair & square to get those things". Those that did it "just out of curiosity" or "just a little bit" (honestly guv) felt aggrieved because they were punished the same as the bigger cheaters and lost all their modules too. The big cheaters felt aggrieved because they just lost their advantage and have to build it back up (aww).
So now some of the more childish ones have decided that they shall attempt to spoil some things because they were punished too harshly well aren't they just precious.
Oh, & if they do manage to lock the starters & nearby systems they are also gonna struggle to get out of their sidy...

I don't think losing the Sidewinder is a big issue, I think you get a load of "loan" credits towards buying it back over and over?
