But that's a representation of how two merging black holes propagate gravitational waves - not really sure how that could possibly relate to the spiral of glowing lights inside the chamber. They look similar, sure, but why would gravitational waves have anything to do with anything?

Because the waves are what makes the stars and system burst out causing the galaxy to make its spiral shape and maybe this is the way they read the galaxy, we humans use telescopes etc they might use some sort of gravitation wave scanner of sorts, read the article it isnt only about two merging black holes, its about finding unseen stars and planets

Just going to post this up with the theories as to what they are labelled on here. I've taken a couple of liberties, but I've also improved the contrast of the image:

I wonder whether the "source" of the UP, UA and UL at the bottom is HIP 14909 since we've had to put all three together to get this "map" in the first place.
It seems obvious that the top is the Thargoid homeworld, what with the presence of 2 Thargoid ships around it...

WHAT IF THE DIAGRAM JUST DEPICTS THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DEVICE?
I mean what we've already done... after all it is generated from scanning the device itself.

Nice finding. So we're looking for a 4th device labeled "I--" in the UP sonogram? It must be something like this. Perhaps we generally should have a closer look at the UP sonogram again, it may help to decode the new one. In particular at the lines & angles, they're there for a reason.

There is a 4th item, its called unknown resin

Unknown resin/bio/tech are all cargo items that seem to spawn around the site

Did anyone tried to put space floating found UAs, UPs in it?

Im might serve as some sort of "focusing crystals", and with it, it might show a POI on the map in the other room? Form what i have seen, there are "cables" running on the side of the walls form one room to the other. So somehow they ARE connected.

FD should change one thargoid wreck to spawn UPs instead of UAs. Everyone happy, no locked content.

no content is locked, it took me almost an hour to find a UP last time I went looking, but eventually I got it.

From what I can tell, whenever one (UA/UP) makes a noise, it shifts colour and relays it. It definitely looks to be pointing somewhere, unfortunately, Col 70 is unselectable so I can't check and it DEFINITELY isn't pointing at Merope.

downloaded, hopped over to Merope 5C, pootled around in some canyons in the largest crater. Graphics started to go very hazy as though I'd kicked up a load of dust. Took off, flew to barney at -26.35, -156.40. Had a look- two ripe MAs, no change as far as I could see since I was last here (about a year ago). went back to my ship, tried to board, graphics glitch. Now I can't reboard the ship because it looks like I'm stood up- the dash is very low/small and when I select the menu to board the ship it is below my eyeline so can't select the option!
And this has gone through beta testing???

finally exited to desktop &that solved it so I could reboard, exit to main menue didn't.

there was nothing but pvp in the beta as griefers took to the beta en masse to kill people who were actually trying to beta test.

Might just be for consistency with it being binary representation of octal.
