Care to explain what the stary map like thing is?

People think its a map. I dont think its anything at all. Its just an effect

No-one's solved this yet ;)

(reposting as it may have been missed):

It's from the sound received from base #9, happend to notice what looks like a data burst just after the image.

I slowed down the sound by half (0.5 speed) to try and transcribe the UL more easily, and the above jumped out at me - looks like the alien numbering system but not in any order used in the main message. Someone with more skill may be able to tweak the image/sound enough to get a clear reading.

Databurst clearly visible here after the visual image.

I think It's actually echoed at different sizes/frequencies across the whole message (remember the comms technician's clue that started all this?).

I only recorded one message, the first one from base #9 Mel 22 Sector YU-F B11-1 AB 5 A before my link exploded (doh).

If someone wants the audio, here it is

First hunch is it may be an identifier for the base/mothership, if so each base should have a different code after it's audio messages.

Just looks like echo to me

I think the galaxy representation is simply a visual clue as to the nature of the data we get from scanning the unknown device, i.e. that we're receiving navigational data to help locate the other wrecks.

It's kind of annoying that you have to have the right signal to activate the UL.
That means you have to follow the entire trail meaning there is no hope of catching the trailblazers.

Would be useful to know if this has been tried, it's a sensible question... You'd imagine the scavengers could just have carried some into the map room from outside if it needed them so badly though. :D

Being very close, outside the door, Meta Alloys have been tried many times already ;)

Well, you can check out the latest ones found by the trailblazers -using the given coordinates to get the data for the next lot and carry on in tandem with the sleepless heroes of the Canonn

Ill bet against that. Why? Because we already solved the UL... so we wait for 2.4 I guess. Or whenever FD will push another button
I don´t think so, that seems to me only the first (and most easy) step in a longer chain of developement, otherwise I would be rather disappointed by FD putting something in based on ways to solve it known already...

I think this is just the start. I am fully expecting something else to occur once most or all the sites have been found.

There is that but given my unwillingness to leave the game to analyze sound I'm probably wasting my time anyway.

I hope so! Or at the very least, discover an almost fully operational Mothership! :D

That's what my bets are on :D

edit; oh, and surrounded by plenty of Thargon *scout* ships patrolling around it ;)

This many crashed ships... possible but how come all of a sudden we find them on the surface and go back a year and oh yeah they hadnt been put in. Storyboards are supposed to evolve on new content, not old content thats been reworked. Anyway i think these are terraforming ships that have found a suitable world and are in the process of being broken down for building materials for a colony. If not why are we seeing barnacle growths and eggs on the ground. These scavenger ships maybe scavenging parts to seed new structures. Crashed base ships tend to leave more of a splat and less of a spiral in the formation of the ground. These honestly look like they have been injected into the surface of the planetoid and are slowly coming to the surface to seed, the outcrop nodes which are gassing also are kind of a giveaway too plus the green haze often reported on the surface. If i was a thargoid and i met a hostile species i would be erecting FOB's.
