Hello Beautiful...

Does not compute. I assume this was just a typo. Yes. That'll be it. Right? Lie to me.

Are we in agreement that both Coffee and Clipper are the win?

Very beautiful. Very fun as a trader ship. It's not the most practical trader ship, but its flight model shines when landing or taking off. (I miss it. Cleared save. Haven't yet rank to buy a new one.)

Its also fantastic in combat zones/PVP. Its the only ship i love fighting in. Stick some Bi-weaves on it, hull and mod reinf's, you've got yourself a boom and zoom highly agile ship with high damage output (if using frags especially). Great little (big?) ship.

The Clipper is an utterly useless ship IMHO.
It's got crosseyed gun placement, so much drift you may aswell make a cup of coffee after each turn (the Cutter you can full out make a 3 course meal), poor shields, poor jump range, and doesn't look good from any angle, but does make for satisfying explosions.
I've owned two, and sold two. Never finding a use for it that my Python can't do better. And I can't deal with that much drift in a ship. Or the hideous night club of a cockpit.

The Python out performs it in everyway, bar raw speed. Even my Multirole Anaconda handles better than the Clipper.
Heck, even my Exploration Anaconda handles better than the Clipper. Lol

The drift is fine if you know how to handle counter thrust, FA off and the boost which on that thing, will immediately stop a drift. Clipper looks amazing from all angles. Jump range is average, not great not bad. Python is just boring, its just "good" at everything dosent make it fun to fly though.

Clipper requires skill to fly also in combat which is why i like it, Python just takes it to the face and turns endlessly, Clipper relies on good flying to stay behind your foe.

Great ship, if you cant handle it, stick to the Python :D

I'm not sure if I should be offended or tickled how everyone keeps assuming I was calling the Python beautiful when if you take the time to really read the context, I was referring to my homeworld. I even clarified that a few posts down on page one, and people still missed it. Yes, I love my Python. After flying a Cutter for almost a month, it's wonderful getting back into a smaller ship like the Python. But the point of what I was saying was that I'm glad to be back home again, and took a screenshot to show it's splendor. It wasn't about the ship.

With that said, I do lean more towards the Empire than the Federation, but not because of aesthetics. It's the ideologies. I'll take a caste-based Empire over a completely corrupted council that uses cloak and dagger methods any day of the week. In terms of practical application, I also chose Empire because once you get the 3A Enhanced Thrusters from Farseer Inc, the Imperial Eagle literally becomes the fastest ship in the game. 800+m/sec boost speeds? Yes please! I also spend more time trading than I do in combat, so the Cutter made more sense than the Corvette. I'll take my FDL or Python out when I want to bounty hunt.

I will admit I was also getting really tired of the side-drift the Clipper and Cutter are prone to. Sometimes I would swear that the rotational correction inside stations would sometimes switch off for a second as I was landing because the Cutter would suddenly and randomly jerk to the left as I floated down onto the pad. I honestly think there may be a slight glitch with rotational correction on Empire ships because of the drift model they use.

All in all though, as I said originally, I'm just happy to be home. I ended up using that pic I posted as my desktop wallpaper. The longer I look at it, the cooler it becomes. I didn't even notice the Milky Way in the background when I snapped the shot in-game. I was just looking at the sunrise and the planetary rings.

After reading your second post, with your clarification, I then laughed my way through the rest of the thread.

It wasn't your intention to provide a funny, but I seldom get a chuckle reading through threads here, so much appreciated. Thanks! :)

Oh. Thought this was gonna be a T9 thread.
How disappointing. Not even the 7 or 6.
Move along. Move along! Nothing to see here.

Cutter and Clipper take some pilot skill to handle correctly. Those lacking these skills find them "useless" and go to character-less, boring ships like Python or Vulture. Flying these is about as interesting as watching paint dry.

Only use for a Python (except missions to outpost) would be as a very large doorstop! :p

The Python is g-d dull but what a practical and useful ship!
I keep trying to sell it (so I can use my T-ships and Conda exclusively) but I always hedge at the last minute - can't quite bring myself to click "Sell this ship?"

The Clipper received no such doubt I am afraid. Perhaps I'll try again in the future. But after years of waiting its moment passed it by in the wake of the, better IMHO, non-rank locked ships.
Fun to fly but what is it supposed to be good at? Go fast with a medium cargo load to large pads ain't doing it for me at the current time.

that shot in your cutter and it looks kinda like the startrek voyager intro back then^^

but i know your feeling^^

People who are seduced by the Cutter & Clipper, are seduced by artifice, by silicone gel, by photoshop and anything skin-deep.

Now - the Adder - that takes courage and perseverance and rather a lot of re-buys to see past its multitude of faults and truly, madly, deeply fall in love...

The Cutter takes skill to maneuver and I can testify that it can be a formidable combat ship instead of just a delivery truck as most have stamped it. The Clipper maneuvers and flies beautifully except the hard points placement (and 1 short) takes some hit and run flying skills for combat.

Python IMO is the best multipurpose ship except looks boring as anything [noob]
