It seems that I am reduced to scanning asteroid belts, and being the first to scan iceballs into EDDN.
Thanks for the great placeholder!

Because every star system in the galaxy has been discovered?
I don't drink, so I cannot resort to that solace.
1%'/rs, enjoy your dominance, You. Have. Won.
Nyet, my good Lizard. Because it requires human lifetimes to accomplish. Count every grain of sand in the Sahara, the 1% guys will never admit all the good stuff has been taken.
I do drink... but not sure that's relevant.
Hardly any of the good stuff has been taken if you ask me, and while I'm not sure I know what a 1%'er is, I don't think I'm one. When I do my (generally couple of week) exploration tours, I find tons of undiscovered water worlds, a few earth-likes and a very few ammonia worlds. I generally come home with 100+ first discovered systems (which are the only ones I scan), and all of them have 'good stuff' in them, whether they be terra-formable HMC worlds, or the above mentioned exciting stuff (although frankly water worlds are not that exciting).
I don't think I've ever been more than 6k Ly from my starting point, for what that's worth.![]()
EDDB only has something like 12m systems registered, and there's 400 billion out there. Pretty sure there's still lots to mark![]()
Those firsts Jenner and me picked up tonight in that other thread were only 1200 ly from Shinrarta.
Such a tiny % of the galaxy is tagged, they're everywhere.![]()
the Force Is With You.
Me, not so much. They kicked me out of Webelos...
Quite seriously, I've been on for 13 hours or so, and I'm getting more than a little frustrated.
There is no casual aspect to this game. You have to be time-rich, to play it.
I picked up two occupied escape pods, and returned them safely to the bubble.
Those should have been massive plot hooks.
Unlock a system, engineering mod. Or, a bounty hunter chasing you.

I've gone up and down the Z axis, 8's around a point, random walks determined by dice, alternating economic routes with random jumps...
Nothing compares with the guys stealing nebula's from each other, on the outer spiral arms. They must have low berths, or something, to alter personal time perception.

What scares me is that the time commitments, for the non-combat player, are going to drive new customers off.
I did that once and got made out to be a criminal....
( honestly tho, i can't say I wouldn't have sold/delivered them to the highest bidder...)
Escape pods are now legal salvage, so no issues that way anymore.
