Star Citizen Thread v6

Besides, planning for any project that pushes boundaries of what's been done before is impossible to predict, I mean, how can you predict how long it will take to make what's never been made? Even decade's old established studios making games with way less ambition than Star Citizen get delayed and massive changes in it's original form during development..

That rather leads to the question if you can't plan for it, how can you be sure it can be done?

Look at you lot, discussing orbital mechanics like CIG is going to manage to implement them anytime soon.

Reminder that this is the same developer that had to disable the spinning ring on a space station because they couldn't get it to stop glitching out, had to disable their tutorial because they couldn't or didn't want to fix it, and still can't get doors to work. Oh, and unless something has changed their engine still can't tell the difference between atmosphere and vacuum so your commando can go for a spacewalk in his space pants.

Can't better sum up the state of the ga... err project, and the delusional hollowness of white knghts' arguments.

Tidally locked moon...

Genius!

Feel the fidelity of the micro engineered, never done before, tidal locking. Weep at this staller, whoops, stellar performance.

Coming soon, grain of sand simulation, each spec is uniquely modelled and tracked to das wundabar 64bit treue... build your own sandcastles and watch entropy at work as the wind and weather takes its toll.... weep oh weep my pretty things.... mwah haha hah ha......

Buy an idiot.

Re: Outposts.

If they're placing outposts where the scenery is good, ie a gas giant on the horizon, does that mean it's all static? I thought orbits were going to be a thing.
lol now that I actually saw the video, looks like they knew about planetary rotation, see at the 24 minutes mark.

I think that's a deliberate typo lol. GamesCON. Yeah, its Gamescom.

Ha, I missed that. Nice.
Could be he's right, could be he's wrong. We'll see.

I hope its a game that does come to fruition. I got a refund a while back, mainly because of the nut cases in-game. But I would go back in, should the PU eventually settle into a good solid game.

You made me cringe a little but I see what you tried to do there :)

I'm very sorry but If you consider Star Citizen a scam there's clearly no room for discussion between us, as we clearly are on opposite spectrum's of understanding. My only advice is to seek a refund and sticking to released games where you can test before putting money on it.

Oh there's room for discussion. You can answer the question and we can discuss the response. But you and won't, because you know it's correct. If you take money for something and deliver something different that's pretty much the definition of a bait and switch. So again:

If I take money up front in return for a banana split and then I spent the next four years trying to provide you with home grown squash with nothing to show but dry dirt and some unsprouted seeds, please justify how I did not scam you.

The original venue was called "Games Convention" until AAA publishers decided to not like it anymore and create their own one. For this stunt they needed a new name sounding as similar as possible without infringing IP rights ("Games Convention" was owned by the original venue host), so they ended up with "GamesCom". The intention behind the name perfectly explains this "typo".

You don't understand vegetables? ;)

I'm just trying to provide him the BDDE (Best Damn Dessert Ever!) so I don't know why he'd be upset with how long it's taking the squash (he didn't want yet inadvertently paid for) to grow! Growing fresh vegetables takes time, and we've had change up the soil type and fertilizer multiple times to ensure the best growth rates.

The scope of the dessert grew because of the number of dollars we received and so we were able to provide something much better than a mere banana split. That's a good thing.

Love the analogy :) have some rep.

I'm free!

Anyway - new ATV is up :D
I haven't watch the whole thing as I am at work but I skipped through and saw the bit with the ship g out on the landing pad. It still looks like the ships just don't seem to have any mass at all. It's as if they are made from balsa wood and the slightest touch would send them flying. I assume this is an artifact of their development environment and ramming said ship in-game would have a realistic result.

whie he's waiting, have you provide him with a selection of LTI ice cream with fidelicious flavour options? and also a selection of choices between high fidelity plates, cups, cones or revolutionary never been done before ice cream holder? it's just $200 for the completionist dessert package!

At the moment in the current baby PU...you can send a Constellation type ship into endless mega spins by bumping into an airlock trying to E.V.A into the ship. The ship mass thing has been an issue for quite a while, seems like they still haven't got a handle on it.

Like I mentioned earlier, the game's development seems to be going in reverse lately, things that are working in the current PU are now severely broken by adding item 2.0. By adding the new burndown section into ATV, it merely shows how currently broken 3.0 is and still realistically months away from release.

Pure and utter 'Clusterfarce' (Phrase first coined by Sleut)

You just don't understand waffle development.

Star Citizen will have NPC's queuing up for waffles in mess halls, and players will get to shout at them for using too much syrup - for the immersion. Those NPC's will then panic and clip through seats in an effort to escape your authority. Even the doors will run away into deep space.

It's going to be epic.

What i like about it is the feedbeck a cafeteria employee will get on his Waffles, just by looking at the amount of gas exhausted from customers` armpits and nipples. Never before seen fidelity.
