So FD are going to release their third game in the time CIG haven't even left alpha in their game.

Granted SC is the most complicated game in the history of aerospace/aeronautical engineering.. but I mean come on!
Where are the those famous magical pipelines that were supposed to speed up development?
Giddy up Chris!

Guess CR got held up by bugs and a lobster :p

I was thinking this yesterday when I saw the announcement ... If their new endeavour does release in 2018 , there is a real chance that it may come out before SC and SQ42.

I wonder if they'll be a dinosaur in the Star Citizen Gamescom video...

You can almost imagine CR turning up to the office, calling a meeting of franticly working staff and dropping the bombshell on them: "Guys, guys, i've just seen the most awesome thing! Dinosaurs! In a computer game! We must have this! Make it happen by next week in time for the demo! And make sure its the most fidelitious experience ever"

Dev: *sigh* "Ok, how many missiles do you want on the dinosaur?"

Well to be completely frank, there was this sci-fi MMO that put dinosaurs into the game...

But I'm sure CR can spin it that it was never attempted before.

PS.: Voth Cyber Dinosaurs were stupid in STO, so be careful what you wish for :D

A little off-topic but maybe somebody can explain it to me (private messages welcome).

I was to a party yesterday and some of the couples brought their kids along so it was very "lively". In the end once we entertained the youngsters enough they were "banned" to the upper rooms to play among themselves while the adults would return to adult-stuff meaning freedom of speech and telling naughty stories :D

Anyway we also had kid-approved food on the table and there was a whole barrel of the famous Kool-Aid stuff sitting there.

I understand the term in regards to Star Citizen or blind fans (just keep on drinking the kool-aid buddy) but I absolutely fail to connect its meaning to the real thing. Its sweet as hell making me feel like my teeth are falling out but the kids were absolutely crazy about it. Is that it? I d just like to understand the origin :)

So long as whatever dinosaur concept they offer punches above its weight (like a raptor literally punching a t-rex) and costs at least $450 (to keep out the plebs) I'm happy.

Initially I laughed, then I sunk lower into my seat when I realised that's probably what's happening right now.

That wasn't much footage. It may be sad but when I see that kind of thing I feel far more interested in watching their fingers to see if what they are pressing is actually translating to some kind of in-game response. It wasn't long enough to make that judgement, other than key press that seem to switch the viewpoint to an external one.

It looked really nice and smooth though, whatever it was.

It seems that they have a build of 3.0 in Gamescom

Or a planetary map loaded in CryEngine where you can drive around for five minutes before the next guy gets a chance. ;) Anyway, I am sure they'll show something that looks cool, just as I am sure none of the backers actually get to download it for vague technical reasons, the store will have no technically difficulties selling a new ship and the Amazing New Build will happen really soon. Probably before december, but you know how the devs hate it when I give estimates. :p

Anyway, dont worry. 3.0 will be huge never done before!

Even if 3.0 works and was everything they had claimed...it still doesn't change the fact that it's 3.0 of a pre-alpha of a game that according to Chris Roberts went "stale" several years ago, and the entire project is still riddled with huge problems. Stuff like inappropriate engine, terrible performance, ship sales for real money and an enormous list of promised features (many of which are centered around ships sold for real money) are just some of the major headaches they've got to deal with. All this fuss over a pre-alpha release is pretty funny when you consider what they've spent years hyping up and just how far they are from having something that could be released and called a finished product. They could come out at Gamescom and announce the game was finished and they'd still be screwed.
