Though my connection is dial up, I have unlimited usage. The only problem is, the newer and newer the games become, the bigger and bigger the file becomes. Hense one needs faster and faster connection speeds to keep up. Eventually ones internet speed will become insuficent and one will not be able to play even the lowest demanding video games. I mean, my Commador still works, but any game played on it must be from the mid 70's to 80's. I still have my library of games and should I choose, play them. But just like one can not play old video games on a modern device, eventually the device will not play modern games.
The other side of the street where I live, has access to fiber optics, though the majority of people living there can not afford it. The line is in, but it's main purpose was to feed a higher class barrio, farther down the line. On my side of the street, only a dial up connection is available. Though the lag times between FDev and Sony and or Mobius is slower for me. I can usually play all day (8 hours) with out any disconects. And then if I can't play, generally no one anywhere can play becasue it's the server. Or it just the device that farts and thus a simple reboot and it game on again.
I have to admit, I was reluctent to buy this game becasue of the mandated on line thing, which apparently only applies to those in open. Well I'm in solo 90 percent of the time, so even though I paid for the membership, I'm not utilizing it to it's full potential. But that's my choice.
Even though they are both automobiles, I can't blame GM for the difference in performance between my Cadilac and Corvette. Though I could pay some engineer to modify my Cadi to match my Vette. If I have my Vette engineered, it separates them again. Yes using hot spot technology is a cool thing, but it was never designed to be utilized by the video game industry. But some people grow up believeing that the world rotates around them. Most often referred to as SJW's. LOL
