Thargoid Data Gathering Effort: We need your help!

Earlier today I got hyperdicted. Since I was carrying Thargoid Probe that I did not want to give up, as soon as I dropped into normal space I boosted away twice before one of the Thargoid ships disabled me with its EMP. I must’ve gotten far enough away because they did not come after me, they just decided to leave the scene.

The three Thargoids opened their wormholes almost at the same time. The first screenshot below shows three rectangular distortions. I’ve caught glimpses of the rectangular pattern before, but never three at the same time and from this particular angle:

Each rectangle then shows some sort of diagonal pattern:

Then the three wormholes open.

The Thargoids must do some really crazy stuff to space-time to make it do that.

Hey LCU, bug report!

I have noticed that your automated EDMC app does also report distress signals, even when they are not alien related. The last one you c an see in the spreadsheet is mine, and was a shop attacked by pirates.

Cheers!

UPDATE ON THE THARGOID ACTIVITIES:

6VdK0B1.png

We still lack of data from the least visited systems around the Merope Buble. We need to try to visit those and keep a record to determine if the Thargoids are actually visiting them.

Guess I just did a crappy job of looking for it then :p I've finally gotten back to the Bubble, so I'm going to install your plugin and hopefully send record of my first thargoid encounter pretty soon...

Thanks. That's actually deliberate it means if we get something new it will be recorded. They can be filtered out

Found my furthest NHSS so far I think, ~140 LYs from Merope, I've entered it into the database (Col 285 Sector CV-X c1-17), btw it has a GG with Ammonia life....

I'm going to create an updated version of the plugin to capture the coordinates and herperdictions. It will also calculate distance from Merope so you can see in the spreadsheet. I'll include records captured so far.

I'll also get it to display the patrol area you are currently in

Inside Shell
Shell
Outer shell 150-200ly
100ly from Sol or Achenar of Alioth

Ive just been looking at the data for the shell and the alien bases and it seems that the Merope shell is just for UAs the thargoid surface sites have a bigger range.

The Thargoid surface sites can be as far as 354ly away from Merope and as close as 245ly from Sol. (HIP 15134)

The following sites are closest to Sol so a good place to start looking for Thargoid activity. Maybe pick one and set an economy route to Sol and follow it a hundred Ly or so before hading back to s different site.

Aries Dark Region GW-W d1-86 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates -28.2303 : 99.013
Aries Dark Region MS-T C3-15 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates -10.1076 : 92.2843
Aries Dark Region MS-T C3-2 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates -4.198 : -48.9098
HIP 14908 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates 70.8429 : 19.5973
HIP 15134 Inactive Site: Closest site to Sol Land at coordinates -14.3252 : -67.3716
HIP 18909 Active site: Land at coordinates 60.0704 : 150.5113
HIP 20964 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates 19.4297 : -146.9173
Hyades Sector DB-X C1-19 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates 27.1036 : -128.5733
Hyades Sector DB-X C1-8 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates -39.8101 : 36.0883
Hyades Sector ZU-Y C16 Inactive Site: Land at coordinates -29.9773 : -152.3166

I was looking into setting up a list of sites to cover between Sol and the shell like a buffer zone to see if they were coming closer. At first I was thinking all sites with ammonia worlds whch gave me a list of 600 or so but not all surface sites are on amonia worlds so I would have to include amonia atmosphere and gas giants with amonia and that makes it an even bigger list. Perhaps too big t manage.

I might be abe to do a version of the Alien tour that lists the sites in a search list and keeps track of which ones have been visited by using a google form so that we can coordinate between different commanders. Eg only show sites that have not yet been visited by another commander.

BTW on the visualisation, is that a line of activity pointing to Sol? Can we addd the thargoid surface sites to it?

Just 1 correction, there are no Thargoid Sites outside of the 150 LY bubble from Merope, see here
The TS bubble's outer range is 150 LYs, but theirs no inner range, unlike the old UA shell which was 135-150 LYs.

Re searching systems with any bodies with Ammonia in them, yes their are loads of them! Lol, I discovered this in my brief search for new TS sites last month, my thread/list for that https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/374949-Anyone-else-hunting-for-new-US-Thargoid-sites
Incidentally I spoke to the author of ED route plotter (spansh.co.uk) a while back, & he enabled a function to search for bodies with any ammonia in their atmosphere , that's when I realised even within 150 LYs of Merope their were 1000s of systems to check (in EDSM 1st).

But yea a good idea to search around TS sites & keep a log of it :).

Hello all.

I apologize but I'm unable to visit the forums too much or play, as I am in London for the Frontier Expo.

I think LCU's observation is great and should be better studied. I belive that doing a patrol route/expeditions using the Thargoid Bases as waypoints may be a great way of estimating the Thargoid Interaction bubble. So I must encourage to start that research.

Keep on the great work, guys!

Have fun, LordZoltan is also there.

If anyone want to patrol the Alien sites or even visit them to look for changes then you can use the Alien Tour Plugin

It will show you the nearest one to your location and will give you a bit of information.

This looks very good! Still I am confuse about some things:

I was trying the earlyer version and I was wondering if my USS actually have been logged to this spreadheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...OomdE4gsYqkrYsmS7qzSpIUhQ4s/edit#gid=52863975 ?

Market Connector showed the plugin and also showed me the USS - but however I could not find my encouters in the sheet? Is this working as intended?

I continued manul entering my encoutners in this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1...ry.829248547&entry.1395484353&entry.191907177 - also becouse I wanted to add to the Thargoid Marking Lexigram.

Also: If I download the new version of the marketconnector plugin can I continue to manually add the Lexigrams into the second form or is this bad becouse of double logging the NHSS?

With this two things away, I am left to say: Thank you for those great tools! Hope the data will help us to get that big picture we might be missing.

Just got a Hyperdiction 250 Ly from Merope, 195 from Sol - hope we can get more data on how the hyprdictions are spread (as we seem pretty sure about where the NHSS are, and the ranges don't match).

I don't capture the commander name, so I have no way of knowing if it was you, but there are certainly entries from other people. The spreadheet is updated in real time. It doesn't have a lot of error cheching so it is possible something could have gone wrong.

Keep using both for now, theplugin is still a prototype. . I'm considering how we can join the two so we can have autogenerated records and manually combined.

Decided to do a bit more goid research; headed out to Maia from Muang. Got to Aries Dark Region XU-O b6-3 & got a USS just as I was hyperjumping to Aries Dark Region GW-W d1-62 (HS) (what does this HS mean??) & went back to check but just a normal Degraded Emissions. Carried on but nothing in Aries Dark Region GW-W d1-62 at all. Jumped to HIP 16271 & immediately got some NHSS, dropped into one & got a scan plus wake scan when it left. It was pulling in a Thargoid Sensor but ignored two canisters of Performance Enhancer. Jumped to Pleiades Sector TJ-Q b5-1 & immediately got several NHSS. So the goid boundary currently appears to be between Aries Dark Region GW-W d1-62 and HIP 16271.

Must visit OO before I drop into any more, it's a long way from Muang!

I just was in a NHSS and MartkeConnector AddOn says:

"USS Survey: Logging: Non-Human singal source"

I still don't see the entry in the spreadsheet...

I am in HIP 17403 .. this is today 07th Okt about 18:25 ingame time (20:25 local)

Somethings not working. EDMC / Plugins : Active Plugins: EDMC-USS-Survey-1.0(USS Surves)

edit:
maybe it's becouse I had "Send System- and Scandata to EDDN" not acitvated? I ticked it. Maybe it was this?

edit edit: now I hit another NHSS with Send Data to EDDN ticked...still nothing.

Re HS, what do you mean? Not seen that in game AFAIR.
About the tgoid boundary you mention, no it's much further than that, their area is patchy, Aries Dark Region GW-W d1-62 is ~97 LYs from Merope, but I've seen NHSSs at 142 LYs from Merope, they are not in all systems within the (believed so far) 150 LY bubble, like you I've encountered systems well within the 150 LY range with no NHSSs, including, but not limited to, systems with no planets.

I've wondered if Tgoids only appear in systems with at least 1 planet/moon which has ammonia in it's atmosphere, but I haven't checked the various systems visited by everyone to see if that is actually the case ;).

Maybe it's a question for the EDD thread, but in the EDD journey window I keep getting "Jump to systename (HS)"

I was actually thinking that maybe it may be a good idea to include the cmdr name. Would make it easier to track errors or add notes.

I am also trying to join both spreadsheets so we can see both records in Piranha's 3d mapper, but for some reason the dates format changes and breaks everything. Will look into it.
