Thargoid Interactions

After visiting the destroyed megaships, Majestic-Class interdictors and the Farragut cruiser.... I don't think I am the only one who thinks that the Thargoid Interceptors we are finding now are NOT the ones that destroyed those ships. Am I?

I think the same (posted it earlier in this thread).

Also, how do we define caustic? As from acid or base or some organism eating metallic hull of our ships?

I think that regarding acids and bases, the hull of human ships should be pretty safe. It can withstand radiation and temperature - to some degree of course. So, it should be able to hold against acids and bases. The metal eating bio-weapon is logical conclusion IMO.

Can we get two Cmdrs to meet up
And test the AX MC on a Unshielded ship to see what the damage looks like AXMC Vs Human ship

Interesting finding:

It appears as though scanning the Thargoid Uplink Devices DO increment the value of the "Thargoid Imprint" statistic, but only AFTER it shows up in the list of stats in the "Interactions" list, i.e. it's not incremented by scanning uplinks behind the scene as it were while the "Thargoid Imprint" statistic is hidden/not present.

I visited another inactive site after giving 5 MA's to a Thargoid in a NHSS and having the "Thargoid Imprint" first show up with a value of 15. I didn't notice until after I had scanned the new site that it had incremented another 15 points to now read 30, so I don't know yet how many scans it takes to change that value yet until I scan the next structure. I know the structures reset if you log off and back on, but I'd rather just "play the game" and go to another Thatgoid site instead for testing, but will do a test to see if a reset structure can be scanned again and increment the Imprint value.

Currently I'm systematically going to all the structures to collect MA's and scan the Uplinks and then dropping into any NHSS's I find to drop off 5 MA's to observe if the Thargoid behavior changes over time as the Imprint value increases.

I heard reports of another player actually seeing a Thargoid attacking the Alcatraz Class Prison ship in HIP 17692, so I went to see for myself.

The one I saw, however, was just scanning things. It scanned me first, then the prison ship, then every canister in sight. It took an escape pod and then flew off.

So I cannot verify the report of an actual attack sighting.

Clearly the Prison ship was attacked, but it wasn't by this particular Thargoid, in any case.

No I didn't, I have 1 on my FDL! Lol.

Interesting indeed! :), but how do you get the interactions list there in the 1st place?? ;)

For me, the Interactions section of the statistics list (minus the Thargoid Imprint entry) came up after dropping into my first NHSS.

I have been trying the "feed the Flower MA's" to get friendly idea....

So far no noticeable change in their status (in regards to being "Friendly")

The first time I fed it 2 x MA's and it let me stay within 350 Metres as it scooped them up, then I dropped another 2 and it deployed Tharglets until I moved away.
Then another Flower ship dropped in and disabled me with an EMP blast. I was disabled until both ships jumped away.

2nd time I dropped 6 x MA's (seeing if I could maybe drop more than the Flower ship could scoop). It deployed Tharglets immediately and did not "scoop" until I had cleared the 500Mt boundary.
As it was scooping a 2nd Flower ship dropped in and again disabled me with an EMP blast. This time the 2nd ship completed scanning the wrecks (not the first) and then they both jumped away.

Has anyone had a second Flower Ship drop in and not disable their ship?

I am off to harvest more MA's, see if I can overload these things!! (Maybe dropping 20 or 30??)

Well I managed to get hold of 35 MA's.

Entered a Non Human USS, Flower Ship scanned me, I scanned it then I dropped all 35 MA's.

The Flower ship started hoovering them up and after a little while a 2nd one jumped in.
As this one entered the area it had blue (rather than the yellow or red seen on a Flower ship already in the USS).

It turned and then hit me with an EMP, so disabled my ship.
Luckily I was still left facing the two Flower ships.

They both proceeded to pick up the MA's I had dropped and I recovered my ships power while they were still doing this.
Both vessels were also emitting various "Honks" and other sounds, however deciphering this sort of stuff is out of my league....more like something for the Canonn guys.

I scanned the 2nd vessel, it was a different pattern to the first (but still an interceptor/cyclops variant).
Once all MA's had been picked up the two Flower ships went over to the wrecks and scanned/retrieved what they wanted then both left.

At no time did either vessel go "Allied" green. If I kept further than 500 Mtrs away they were a sort of pale/light green (ish).

So apart from the Flower Ships being hungry little so and so's... nothing to report!

Hey, I may have some information regarding some of the theories I've heard (I've only heard of two) that I may want to add information to (or possibly reiterate some information). Is it this the forum I should post up the video I made on them?

I tried to record audio during a meta-alloy drop, but I am clueless when it comes to Audacity. Can someone point me to an analysis of the audio?

Also, do they ignore Soontil Relics as well?

What seems odd to me is how intact the wrecks remain. Aside from the caustic scorching, there's not a lot of the smithereens we see at so many USS locations. Seems like all the ships in normal 3303 explode when hull hits zero, or PP does; those wrecks are dead beyond scanning in the NHSS, yet miraculously did not bloweduprealgood.

Well, hey, I really don't know if I'm contributing here at all, but I did my own little study on the Thargoids as well. I made it in video form, but again, I feel like I may be reiterating known information. Please tell me if there's something I missed, or if there's more to it that maybe I spoke about that perhaps adds to this conversation. I'll be trying to get a Xeno Scanner later on and do more studies in open play. Wouldn't mind help later on.

I mean, I've been reading through some of the replies since I made the video. The idea of there being two factions of Thargoids does seem kinda possible now that I read about the attacks. I feel like there's something more going on, however I don't feel like they're running from something, like one other theory I heard from a friend.

For anyone tracking. I just got interdicted from witch space by Thargoids in Pleiades sector QT-R c4-16. That's 96ly from Merope towards the bubble.

I got EMPd then scanned, and the Thargoid then just flew away. I tried xeno scanning it but it jumped out before the scan completed.

Last night I got pulled out of Witch Space two jumps into the Pleiades Sector and about three jumps away from Maia on my way to see Palin about some engineering. I had my CRC on board at the time but it was empty.

There was no interaction. They just went hostile on me immediately. MY DBE has no offensive weapons only countermeasures.

I lost power and by the time I managed to get power back online and escape the shields were down and integrity was at 64%.

Nasty little critters... I was hoping for a more "productive" cultural encounter.
