For being called exploiters for doing things you do all day, every day we are pretty cool.
You not so much.
Like the one time when your member went to the forums and pretended being a poor trader being attacked.
Or when your officer rage created a forum account to whine in other peoples bug reports.
Civility? That can be destroyed by improper conduct.
Like repeated ad hominem smear campaigns.
Attack the concept, not the person. First rule of mature, adult debate.
Let’s try: “I don’t think exploration should be nerfed without an 80% reduction to murder effects”
Versus: “Victore is a horrible person that only wants to take over the galaxy like SPACE HITLER! He has a hidden agenda!” Good heavens, the man rarely even plays the game anymore, he’s too busy with work.
Victore brought up a good point, but what he mentioned wasn’t all that’s wrong with the BGS. Personally, I want to see mission influence increased to counter murder. It might expand the BGS actions some, and states like boom become more important (or at least less useless).
This is a discussion that needs to happen.
Player minor factions were a mistake. The BGS works fine right up until you start having large groups of players all trying to find the most effective way to influence it.
Says the pilot with 10 million+ in fed bounties? We all do it, because it works too well. For that reason. I’d say murder needs to be brought in line as well. Mostly because missions, trade, and bounty hunting mean almost nothing in comparison.
Come on guys, we can keep this discussion friendlier than this. On this forum, we are people sitting in computer offices playing a video game. You’re not an Alliance pilot. I’m not some Fed-rat. We’re not in outer space fighting an intergalactic war. You can respond to Victore with some respect, and mention that murder needs a nerf without rude accusations.
His post got moved to the RP forum where it belonged, that’s part of the whole ‘pretend’ thing. You should see some of my Federation News Network articles, they’re great propaganda. It adds a level of depth to the game for our people. I haven’t posted them here because operational silence, and we really don’t want something in character to spin out of control.
I don’t call you guys exploiters, you know the BGS well and run it like grand master chess players. In character you’re all filthy cheating Alliance thugs, but you’re all good people out of the game. Hell, I even still listen to Obsidian Ant, and I’m subscribed to DNA Decay.
However. I think we all agree that there are parts of the BGS that are ‘exploit-ish’. It’s a big part of the whole messed up design, where it gives priority to the brand new pilot in his cobra. We’re both using the mechanics however, because that’s how you ‘play’ right now. If you think we’re calling you exploiters when we do the same thing? I dunno. I think you’re taking it wrong.
Often I find it's easier just to ignore the complaints of those with an ulterior motive for making them. [up]
Same thing as the 1 ton exploit was for trading, but with exploration and combat bonds, I believe. More transactions are better than 1 bulk transaction. Many people says it works, but idk if it does. BGS confuses me.
What's BGS stand for?
Just wondering cos I'm a couple hundred jumps away from finishing a two week exploration trip involving a lot of ELWs and WWs etc and would like to troll someone here who'll be upset if I don't sell the data in the way they think I should. After all, I've spent hundreds of hours exploring so shouldn't get any reward from it...

So this didn't happen, then?

Is this really a thing? I'm in one of the bigger player-factions, and I'm specifically in a squadron and wing with a focus on pushing our BGS faction...
And never once have I been told to drop off exploration or bonds one at a time...
I don't think this is a moral stand (it's in the game and not a cheat), soooooo are you sure that dropping off one at a time really boosts the output?

Maybe it is a moral stand on our part, because I just asked about it and got told that's not something we do. TIL, I guess.100% sure. Without revealing too much we have used this to great effect in multiple occasions involving opposing PMF. This is not a surprise to those who have a full grasp on the BGS.
Xander, sometimes I really do wonder whether you're part of a different group. Or maybe your time is limited that you miss the actions of your higher ups.
Either way, this nature of the BGS is something that we have reported repeatedly, in its totality (aka without ignoring murder), alongside other groups adept at the BGS and surely not just a few days after we lost a war.
And your articles make me angry in character, so I guess you're doing a good job as well. [big grin]
wel that does make sens, except for the last part, it not about thinking we're being called exploiters.
Have you read that post of your man T in that (unrelated)bug report. i't quite literal.
He seems pretty angry, perhaps it would do him good if you explain your point of view to him.
You mean like asking (EDIT) loads of other Fed groups or using Murder & Explo mechanic exclusively?
That is probably why EDF's pilots are always on our bounty boards and out in space.
Get real, stop telling lies. Because it is really pathetic.
EDIT: Maybe you aren't telling lies and actually think you tell the truth. MIght be. Doubt it, but might be. If so, question your sources.
PS: So you guys ARE reading our forums! Naughty naughty! Haha! I’m glad to have a larger audience, even if they are Alliance spies.
Naming and Shaming.
