Thargoid Data Gathering Effort: We need your help!

Using the powerplay bubble I have slowly made my way from the "tip" towards the Maia/Merope area. The last inhabited system (with a base) along this route appears to be 64 Arietis. So far my closest contacts to the bubble/64 Arietis has been a Thargoid probe in the Arietis Sector YO-A b3 (USS-5), it was pointing towards the P Nebula as expected. One jump farther put me at Aries Dark Region QJ-P b6-2, Cyclops I have found (USS-5) is a 4D-3. This one also sucked up a personal effects canister (first I have ever seen that one). Which I was lucky to catch at all, I happened to see it for only a second before he took it in.

I was working my way back from Maia to the bubble recording the Thargoids I saw, and observing, when i came across a USS-5 at HIP 18154, when I dropped out no green mist, but a HUGE pile of tiny pieces of debris, when the Thargoid came at me the chunks of debris in a halo around em came with him (magnetic like), I was trying to scan because the petals on this Thargoid looked different, hard to describe but more 3d and farther spacing between them. But got flustered and didn't target him in time to get the full scan off. I tried to follow and get close enough, but he came to an abrupt stop and i flew into him, which then caused me to have to run and, that's when I ended up at 64 Arietis for repairs and started backtracking Which was also quite interesting.

Have to go to bed, but tomorrow I will input all the encounters into the database, just wanted to mention these two notable encounters before i went to sleep, while its fresh in my mind.

I'm having a problem with the Patrol part of the plugin.

Yesterday when I went to Maia, it told me to patrol Pleiades Sector OD-S b4-1 and scan planet 2A. I did that, and dropped into a couple NHSS.

Then the Patrol changed to another system, as expected, which I was going to check out today.

However, today when I logged in (in Maia already), the Patrol is telling me to go back to Pleiades Sector OD-S b4-1 and scan Planet 2A again.

Sooo...not sure why that's happening.

There is a known bug. Its not recording in teh google sheet when you have visited. It is recording locally but only for the session. So when you log back in it doesnt remembers.

I'm revamping that part of the code when I get a chance.

Ive manually added that one so nobody gets sent there again

I was thinking I should be able to automatically add hyperdiction routes to the patrol zone.

I'll put both start and end systems and it will say something like.

Hyperdiction detected between x and y by commander z

What do you think?

Actually, none of my data today showed up in the sheet. I did 12 systems, and 11 had NHSS in them. Probably nothing new, but I thought the data would show up in the sheet. I was hyperdicted once, also, and that does show up.

Anyway here's a list of the systems I checked. These all had NHSS.

Pleiades Sector DL-Y d65
Pleiades Sector GW-W c1-15
Pleiades Sector GW-W c1-13
Pleiades Sector GW-W c1-12
Pleiades Sector LX-T b3-0
Pleiades Sector DL-Y d59
Pleiades Sector EB-X c1-14
Pleiades Sector GW-W c1-9
Pleiades Sector MI-S b4-0
Pleiades Sector KC-V c2-5
Pleiades Sector DL-Y d34
HIP 16378
HIP 16635

Well gee, sorry. I must be looking at the wrong thing. Thanks for checking :)

Possibly you were checking the manually logged NHSSs rather than the auto logged ones?

Sounds good :)

Hey LCU, I see you've broken the NHSS record by finding 1 in HIP 20486 at 146.77 LYs from Merope! Congrats :), inching it up! ;)

And I just re-broke it! Lol, Mel 22 Sector WP-F b11-1 is 147.88 LYs from Merope! ;)

We are slowly approaching to 148LY from merope, but never reaching it! A true mathematical limit!

Frontier, we know your secrets :D

By the way, I should be joining the search again soon. I´m using the money and influence I got to upgrade my Python, unlock Marco Qwent and Palin, and hopefuly make my python enough of a threat to actually fight the Thargoids if occasion arises.

What's special about 148?

Be good to have you back :), but a Python? I left mine behind because it isn't fast enough, it boosts to ~445m/s, what does yours boost to?
Or are ya just gonna hull tank it? ;)

Nah, just a pure mathematical observation :D.

My PYthon is still quite slow, but I hope to improve its speed quite a lot. And yeah, a bit tanky will help too.

Worth reporting :), link here in the op.

Trying to remember what grade DDs my Python's got..... decent G4 I think, I still don't have any Pharm. Isolators. So I think you'd need a decent G5 to stand a chance of out running Thargoids in a Python.

Damn it! I didn't know damaged escape pods had a shelf life! This hasn't happened before, but I just had 5 turn into 'out of date goods!' RIP the people I had rescued from the Thargoids :(

There is something else new here: I went to the Science vessel in the Community Goal and rescued a damaged pod. The Thargoid sneaked on me and scanned me... But didn't attack! He did attack before if you had any escape pod in your hold, damaged or not. Is this a new behaviour? Can it be repeated?

Ah no, sorry but I've been scanned dozens of times with pods on board, & I have never been attacked for it. Although I did hear some others had been early on with the Thargoid's incursions.
