i was very excited to get a palin mission offered to me last night... 15 million.
I had done the mission once before but it was a cheap one at only 5 mil....
however the Elite bug gremlins were out in force because the mission popped up and i opened the message after maybe 30s to find time remaining 0.0 and i could not take it on. DOH!.

Seriously I never go on twitter as I can make no connections with the inane twiteratae - my hearing has age related top cut, and have a low rejection threshold.
Answer - you spend 2 mins waiting for the program to load and time out before you know the servers are down.
Actually 7 mins because you need to also try OS reboot and Router restart before declaring TILT on the servers.
Why can't the low level server contact be made before the long drawn out game load - so you can restart OS and or restart router without the 2 min (for each try) delay?
P.S. you know have got the correct server when it its name is unknown - cast eyes to heaven.

Please tell me you don't restart your PC and your router each time you can't log in? Seems like complete overkill.
Oh I'm with you there - I probably wouldn't look at twitter if it wasn't to keep up with ED happenings.
It was just the weekly server maintenance including Powerplay update cycle.
needs must... if it sits there with spacestation rotating and a squirligig squirling (somewhat like a black hole in the game) first try a router restart, if that doesn't do it then its OS restart time. == 7 mins min
well I don't knowingly put myself in danger, and some twitterists of high rank could get a reply that might be deemed an attack on high office, so I don't at all.
!So ? it is agrinoying to have to run the full 7 min cycle to find out.

Something is majorly wrong with your setup if you need to router reboot and/or OS restart to play the game EM.
I'm a Microsoft Insider and I can vouch for Windows 10 being probably the most stable system since XP.

Please quote exactly what I said to you to warrant the above remark.
Any person can become an insider by filling in a simple form, it does not mean that they have tested MY system exhaustivly and proved it to be perfect.

I'm not an insider but I'm not too shabby at fault diagnosis. In your case while there may be a compatability issue with the game & your hardware or other running software, your description suggests other issues with your setup that need to be resolved & eliminated.
Take a look at your main menu - network stuff - how's your ping time displayed there?
In addition: Talk to support, send them network logs. Something's rotten in the state of Elitemark which is not neccessarily your setup. Most propably you got some connection issues, there's a lot of knobs to turn for improvement: Get rid of ipv6, upnp, port fwd and the like. Your given procedure is NOT normal.

Has ED ever run properly on your computer?

Did you change any settings beyond the default ones on your router?

Starting to wonder what makes the 2.4 release different to the others regarding evolving content and such...
To me it looks exactly like any other so far, a few fixes after the initial release and then a period of silence...
I know, i read somewhere a stability fix dropping 'in the next weeks', but... evolving content?
If they'd at least get some info's out about the state of things...
