I took it out of the station for a brief test and it handles nicely without DD, it is still pretty brick like in its turning but it feels nice.
I think the universe might be trying to tell you something. You know... It might be time to spend that 30 bucks and upgrade to the latest version of the game?

With the c6 distributor, you nailed it with "laid back".
Disappointing. It's a T9 with more profitz space and the utility slots for bigger shields.
Lakon fans who aren't into killing Thargoids are looking for a reason to add this ship to their fleet because we've wanted a Lakon end game ships for so long.
To be fair, it seems like it might still be worse at fighting thargoids than the anaconda or other ships because of its lack of offensive options. I mean, cannons are great, but when fights last for 10+ minutes... You’re going to wish you’d have been able to fit some lasers.Forumites are so funny

Again a big ship with NO SIZE 1 module slots - many dont care I know, i find it ridiculous. As if the manufactures dont know that there are some size 1 modules that could be better fitted in a size 1 slot instead WASTING SPACE using a size 2 or 3 or 4 slot!
I'm going to go ahead and just buy the ship and start working on engineering upgrades rather than taking in a bunch of outside opinions on the ship ahead of time.
It has a class 8 powerplant. The PD is a shame, I'd have preferred a class 7; but it's the power plant that really mattered.
It's still going to be a good miner, better than the type-9 obviously, but it was SO close to being great. I am processing my grief over the class 6 PD and probably will replace my Type-9 with one of these anyway. The better handling and increased jump range are nice upgrades.

I find it a little ridiculous explorers don't have C1 slots, but outside that there's no requirement for FD to give every ship in the game free scanner compartments to fulfill moody players' OCD.

What do you do with a Lakon "end game" ship, that you can't do in a T9.
Oh chill your beans, it's a game that needs balance.

Aspects such as handling are absolutely subjective to the ship. Unfortunately the PD is not one such aspect; you pretty much know exactly what you're getting firepower-wise from this ship.
Even with the low draw of AX weapons...thargs have excellent shield stripping capabilities. Having a strong distributor to maintain SYS capacity, esp. on bi-weave builds, will make your life considerably easier.
I'd rather run a Python into battle from what I've seen so far.
The PP will be supah important for the new hardpoints and 8 utility slots, but as I highlight above, PD is more than about weapons. As the ship was intended to be combat-capable, especially against thargs, I feel its increased shield potential will be crippled by an anaemic SYS capacitor.
Ah, right... But why would you want to fight the thargoids you attacked more or less unprovoked? If species 2 comes along, I’ll join the fight against them. Until then, this ship’s pd is kinda small.Except the lasers don't effect the Thargoids.
Balancing something just because engineers exist is a falacy though. It should be balanced against other ship’s base stats, right now it seems that might not entirely be the case?It has more shield potential than python; it has 9 hardpoints; it has a crap-ton of armour and a larger power plant. People are acting like they've never heard of charge enhanced before. Ya'll do what you want; I'll be spending my entire evening tomorrow taking everything to eleven and then beating the snot out of anything stupid enough to stop me. Should be great.
