Ships Type-10 Released!

Seems to manage heat well. Jumped and scooped from Jameson to Maia with a 7c scoop and it didn’t go above 60% until I decided to stress test it and charge the fsd while scooping. Handling isn’t horrible either (coming from a cutter). The distributor is depressing though.

I didn't suggest it would be wasteful - quite the opposite. I am saying you aren't entitled to have every ship contain internals that suit you. Why should a trade ship be optimised for scanners?

I did suggest though this doesn't apply to explorers specifically. Any dedicated explorer ship, and preferably scout ship, should have two dedicated scanner slots akin to military slots for navy ships.

And my apologies, I should have noticed the "international" badge. OCD = obsessive compulsive disorder. Used frequently in a colloquial (informal) way to refer to an annoyance at anything that doesn't line up or look perfect - for instance, getting annoyed because you have C1 items in a C3 slot.

Why are you thinking only about scanners? What about a simple docking computer? I would say a stellar scanner is also basic for every ship and every role! For me that are 2 modules that every modern spaceship in 3303 would have been designed for.

& I dont think expressing my opinion on this matter means I have a obsessive c. disorder (sound somehow insulting).

I'm interested, but since I'm at work I can only hope Coriolis.io gets updates soon so I can start playing around and dream up some ideas. :D

Well i took as many modules as i had on hand to outfit the T10 (all i need is C8 prismatics because all i had was C7, engineered bulkheads a C3 and a C2 HRP) and this was the result.

Compete with what though?

I have my endgame ships already and they are my DBX for exploration, my Cobra Mk4 for planetary scavanging and trading, Vulture for Combat and the cobra mk3 for what ever I want to use it for. I also have a keelback for when I want to use a SLF.

The anaconda, corvette and cutter are only endgame ships if you make them endgame ships. Personally I have no use for them. Why does the Lakon ship need to compete with those three?

I'm interested in checking out the Chieftain.

But yeah, my most bloated space cow that I care to pilot and own is a Python.

My main ship is a fully combat loaded Vulture explorer ship, The Ronin. Full write-up here. → https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...Space-Ships!?p=2828837&viewfull=1#post2828837

I have a Cobra Mk. III for deep space exploration, a Diamondback Explorer for long range exploration, an Eagle for surface reconnaissance exploration, a Dolphin for luxury passenger missions and exploration, and as mentioned a Python for pretty much being a workhorse and explorer where the others don't quite do as well, transporting more passengers, helping out in CGs, or similar.

I'm not interested at all in the large ships in the game, so I've already reached my "end game" content in that regard.

If other people like them, then good enough for them. Glad they're getting some more toys to play around with in the game. :)

I'm diggin; mine :) got to get to work now with passenger missions in order to "A" rate her all out. I'm impressed with her jump capability, even with my "B" rated FSD, she can pull 18ly.

Hmm... bought one just to see how it looks, undocked completely stock, "rammed" NPC beluga in slot at like ~80m/s and instantly had 75% hull. Beluga did not loose shields. Looks "durable"....

Apart from that after fiddling with modules... looks like one of those strange ships which are used only by people who deliberately want to handicap themselves. With its hardpoint placement and distributor... can it be even remotely usable in combat? Could it have been any uglier, with those spoiler? Good thing i do not care about money spent and will still leave it in storage hoping some day it may become useful...

I'm more interested in the Krait myself. Your shipyard looks very much like mine.

Goodness, what a joke of a ship.

Hull mass 1200 tons - no C5 shield, even with engineers.
C8 prismatic shield gives 579.5 MJ (no mods, no boosters).
Less cargo than T9.
Costs almost as much as Conda to own and outfit.
Class 6 power distributor, which is obviously underpowered for nine hardpoints.
C3 hardpoints locations are actually WORSE than on a Clipper (Yes, this is possible, believe it or not)

What's next? Type 11 Aggressor with four C4 hardpoints and C5 power distributor??? Hello FD, we want ships that we can actually use for something, not plot gimmicks!

Stripped all my ships for engineered modules and sat in Selene Jean's after applying a heavy duty mod on a lightweight hull - don't want to kill the maneuverability any more than I have to. Got a decent roll first time and sitting at 3898 integrity with some engineered heavy duty hull reinforcements. 8C engineered Bi Weaves 1858 with some engineered heavy duty shield boosters. Would like to see what Prismatics would do.

Moves OK, feels like a flying fortress. Sluggish in Super cruise. Love the cockpit as it feels industrial.

Christened her The War Horse, so I'm off to pick a fight now.

The specific module is irrelevant. You have no rights to have "free optimised slots" for every module you want.

You want to use an optional convenience item? You may just have to deal with making a concession.

I dont think expressing my opinion on this matter means I have a obsessive c. disorder (sound somehow insulting).

It's colloquial humour. I didn't mean to actually imply you have OCD, friend, though I would find it more insulting to suggest that it's an insult to be labelled with OCD...and no, that sentence is not particularly comprehensible -_-

Cheers for the bridge screenie.

Opinions on Lakon bridges seem to be pretty subjective, but it looks like the crowning point of this ship to me. You might get rekt, but you'll have a gorgeous view of your surroundings as it happens :D

I haven' read the whole thread but the wing tips fold up when landing as well. I like that.
