I think the Chieftan will have more utilities than a FAS, as possibly a few more mediums- so a x 2 large / x 4 medium and possibly x 6 utils (but 4 util slots are visible on the engine pods).
Perhaps all the medium ships combine Transformers style? Maybe in the end multicrew is a giant robot?

It has 2 mediums on the front because of the AX missiles it has equipped.
where do you guys actually see TWO mediums?
I see only ONE large and ONE medium in line above the cockpit
edit: and a closer look also shows single big hardpoint hatch under the cockpit, which may be another large one.
now i truly hope that there are some small hardpoints in those nacellas, or else its another multicrew ship with no hardpoints worthy for a gunner.

They're actually about the same. The shields on a clipper are borderline useless. Especially considering the 7A. They drop fast. It has a huge hit box, so it takes a lot of fire.

Doesn't the pad where it sits in the teaser trailer look like a large pad?
The other medium would be on the opposite side out of view.

From the angle of the image i posted it looked like the HP was more towards the edge but i guess i was wrong.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to the Chiefy AND Krait...
With ALL the Speculation on the Chiefy... Am I the only one that thinks the Krait looks like it's UP-Side Down?!? If you flip the Krait over it would make a Decent Gun Platform...
Plus the Krait looks FAST (Straight Line)... but it Doesn't Look Small At All.
It might be Clipper Sized even though it is said to be Medium...

see the two prominent gray bands on the medium landing pad (there is a orca next to it, so the chieftains is on a medium pad)

and always remember:
when they say it has the highest manouverability of its size, it may not be the fastest. given the numbers seen on corvette and other dedicated combat vessels

Ah, I was looking at an older render model I guess.
But I think you mislabeled things there;
Looks more like 2 large and 1 medium if those are hardpoint covers - I don't think the large would be so high up on the back.

Yeah, and I think you got the angle mixed. That one labeled Med I think is the Large, whcih would make the other Large under the cockpit and the Medium for the middle.
Unless I got it wrong, and its one Large and 2 mediums...

check the other screenshot - the large hatch slides backwards and is then almost horizontal
if the door that i have highlited as "med" would slide upwards, it would look totally different and would not have the sharp bent sides
you can also see details infront of the large pulse that are NOT visible in that frontal screenshot. so the large hardpoint has to be further up and behind of that "black scoop" like structure in the front view.
