Signed up for this, missed out on the Enigma expedition cos I wanted to do the Beagle Point Expedition. Complete flop just two of us did it. Looking forward to this o7

I will sign up once Beyond drops and I can see what I can engineer for the trip. But probably a FuelConda

Have faith.

Ships have been making the Beagle Point run since before Engineers.
What’s the worst that could happen?

(Signed up to fly a type-9 with a turning circle of an oil tanker - why make it easy?)

I keep going round in circles re: what ship to take. I do like the idea of using something other than the holy AspX-Conda-DBX trinity.

I love my Python, Soda Dreamer, and she can leap 38 ly in a single bound now. I've also just taken delivery of a swanky new Imperial Clipper. Really, though, I'm holding out for some new releases, particularly in the Q4 explorer focused update.

Yeh I thought about trying to do a Cutter but the range is just terrible compared to those three so think I will stick with my Anaconda build which I need to do yet.

On a completely different note...the name of your ‘conda is excellent!

3 am and can't sleep so what do I do? I read the forums and hey! DW2!

Some personal observations first:

Just a few days ago, I arrived back in the bubble from Colonia and the incredible Enigma Expedition. What an adventure it was. Met new friends, traveled amongst the stars & the heavens. Observed, scanned, cataloged & saw sights that never ceased to amaze.

We blew up SRV's on planets & cooked ships like they were pigs on a spit (apologies to the vegetarians). There were canyon expeditions in between tours of Guardian ruin sites & Conflux sites (ROXXLA?).

We met up on meetup days and played, relaxed & blew up more srv's, ships & SLF's. Some learned how to create monuments from the very space ships they flew. Spaceships as art? Space cirque du soleil? It was funny, creative & liberating & though we were fewer in numbers from our Xbox & PC brethren, we flew with purpose and energy. It was such a joy, such a wondrous thing.

And then the unthinkable:

The UA bombing of the very ship we were headed to! The very reason for the voyage we undertook in solidarity & respect in the hope that somehow we could help with our own strength and well meaning thoughts, this dying man who's only wish was to visit Colonia for the first time with his young daughter at his side.

Why such wicked people exist in any world is still a sad reality we all have to face but this? This was particularly heinous without any thought or compassion.

And Yet, within 15 minutes off the announcement, a dozen players and groups immediately made plans to procure the desperately needed Meta Alloys and fly straight on through the night to reach the Dove Enigma. Within the next several hours hundreds more made the same decision. Whether seasoned veterans or pilots who had never been outside the bubble, they came in all manner of ships big and small, engineered & non-engineered, it didn't matter. They wanted to help. To do the right thing. Many of our own from the expedition itself turned around & went back to gather the Meta Alloys and return.

You may say this is a game but the time commitment required in ED to fly 22kly+ is extraordinary when your ship is laden with cargo.
And yet they came. By the following morning more then 100,000 tons of Meta Alloy was delivered followed by hundreds more each and every day. They're still coming as we speak. It was a gesture of something rarely seen on this scale. It made me remember how special we all can be.

The Enigma Expedition was 3 weeks but it touched all who were involved. Whether you were on-board from the start, joined late or were part of the #MetaArmada, you were part of something truly unique.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All of the above is why the Distant Worlds II Expedition, still so far away, is from my perspective on the PS4 platform, extremely intriguing.

We won't have the numbers of our PC & Xbox brothers & sisters & at a certain point we'll be so far from the bubble that to be successful in this 8 or 9 month journey we'll need to truly evolve into a family, and we will.

The PS4 community will literally be that rag tag fleet of adventurers boldly going forward to seek out and explore, & with FDev wanting to assist in this grand journey & actively planning content for this expedition, I feel something magical is out there waiting for our smaller yet determined fleet to experience.

Whatever we discover while we're 150,000 klys from the bubble, be it wormholes, new clues about the Guardians, more Thargoid variants or entirely new lifeforms, the PS4 version of the DW2 expedition for my money, is the one to be a part of.

Did I join up? You're damned right I did!
I look forward to journeying to the stars with those I've met and the many more who will become extended family.

We are extremely fortunate to have as our Expedition leader CMDR Allcrowsareblack. There's no one as capable at planning and leading an expedition like this. You will be amazed.

The journey is the adventure & this is an adventure of a gaming lifetime.

DW2 is a long ways off but sooner rather then later it will be time!
Until then, fly safe CMDR's!!

Old Duck's going to be the only PS4 player left in the bubble so it defaults to him I think.

I've tried a half dozen times to do it on my tablet, and can't seem to figure it out, thus Old Duck and I will be holding the fort down here in the bubble, while your all out raising heck.

I can only hope the Thargoids can't read English and none of them are subscriber to this forum. With my limited combat experience and Ducks and possibly Jenny the only ones in the bubble. Things may not be the same when y'all get back. Would be a great time for the Thargoids to run amuck, reckon?

So I am nearly ready for DW2, 56.7ly Anaconda with Fuel and Repair limpets, and a fighter bay.

It literally took one roll per module bar the FSD which I did two G5 rolls because the first was terrible. The new engineers may lead to a revisit but at least I don't have to start from G1 on it all.

I think that it will be a moot point because, as Stormy has already said, griefers tend to stick close to the bubble so beyond the initial exit of the bubble most people will be beyond the reach of the idiots.

From the roster listing:

2223 0A1-DW Harry Potter aka "MagicMike" Imperial Clipper "Salomé's Demise" (20.03 ly) Fighter Escort, Explorer PC

What could possibly go wrong?

I doubt he'll bother, more likely a troll and if he does he wont affect us. ;)

I'm signed up to take my eggshell and tissue paper Exploraconda. Wonder how much worse it would be in my fully loaded Cutter..? Because you just never know.
