Ok slight update lol: so I've been doing nothing except basically mode hopping with TCE running a few times, took a mission each time. Now Nothing pops up if I were to log out and back in, but TCE is not logging anything. But if I just restart TCE while in game in star port it will update the mission count once it starts up.

For now I will just let this matter rest a bit until either other suggestions come, or if Eventure has any ideas or requests. Idk of anything else to add or try at the moment

Yeah, I'm still having issues. mission count gets stuck. After completion the old missions aren't removed and new ones aren't added. I don't get the journal errors any more though.

Yeah same here. I still se it if I load TCE before Ed. But if I do the reverse I don't see the journal message even after mode switching to test it, but it gets stuck like you say.

Side question since people in here seem a bit more helpful and actually read posts. I pretty much 100% sure it's not TCE since I'm not currently running it, but every time I load my commander now I'm seeing in comms panel 0stars imported, 1016duplicates, 1 failed. Any idea what this is? Are you or anyone seeing anything similar? How can I get it to stop? AgainTCE is not and has not been run when I see this. I only boot comp, and start ED bare bones and this pops up every time my commander loads.

Edit: apparently this is a file created by TCE. No idea if this is causing problems. I asked about this message in another thread and found its related to a importstars.txt file. And TCE recreates this file if I run it and Ed. So maybe this tells something to my journal issue? Lol

I also see a message in the Comms panel similar to that. Something like 377 duplicates, 1 failed.

I don't know if TCE can do anything about this, but when I have my USB monitor powered on, TCE is very, very slow to open panels. Even the CONTROL panel for the main overlay takes several seconds to load. USB monitor off - speedy. I don't know what I can do to help out with this issue, but I'm happy to do what I can.

It's my Netflix monitor while exploring.

I don't want to have to turn it off to play Elite lol.

As far as why it's happening idk. But as it was explained to me is something (TCE) is trying to import stars to your visited stars list. There is a file called importstars.txt in local app data that causes this. Removing or reneaming it stops the messages. But if you run TCE and ED together TCE will recreate that file and the message will start again.

As to why or what this means or if it helps my journal issue no idea. Lol.

I also get this msg. For months now. As it hasn't seemed to impact anything, I stopped worrying about it and hardly notice it now ... yawn. I figure that I will never visit the one failed star

If you reload TCE you should see a message at the foot of the launcher once you have logged in for 1.6.6.7

Same here for the notifications when I log in to ED. They come up every minute I think

Change Game Version
At Launcher And Restart.

As far as the comms panel message, I've been getting the 1 failed for a very long time. Never really knew what it was, so have always ignored it.
For which to start first, ED or TCE. I have always started ED first and have waited until it is fully loaded then I start TCE. Just makes sense to me to start ED first as TCE needs to read ED files. Which I presume it cannot do if TCE is started first.

Panic.... Lol, sorry but reading all your posts seems it like that. Let me try to help.

The Imported Stars is nothing to be concerned about and has nothing to do with the Journal. If anything it should run once when first installed and then not run again. I belive. But basically it's nothing to worry about. It marks stars in your Galaxy Map as the ones you've visited over time, it was only really required early 2.x when that became a filter in ED, Visited/Not Visited Stars. If you started playing after that time then it's quite redundant now.

EDIT

The "visitedstarscache.dat" contains a list of all systems you have visited and is used, e.g., for that filter on the galaxy map. You should not delete it.

I don't think it is actually required by ED at ALL times? But I may be wrong. I'll delete mine next time I'm in game and check my visited stars, I suspect they will still be marked as such.

Either way the above still counts, it's nothing to worry about.

With regards to the Notification Messages, you can turn these off, check your options menu and look for Event Reporter and uncheck all, or the ones you don't want to see.

There is an issue, so deactivating the message won't help to bypass the issue. TCE didn't process the journal further more after the message. Help is underway!

hi, I let the auto updater do its thing, all looked fine, even verified databases after the update. Then I Launch it and it gets stuck while parsing logs with error

Seems to be an exotic name for a jounal log, TCE are not prepared for it obviously. Fix the journal filename with "2016_12_27 14_06_49 UTC" manually, otherwise TCE will ignore it with the next update.

Hi Eventure

TCE isn't picking up where I am. If I press Connect, it says False Market. I have tried verify to see if that helped but didnt seem to.

Below the False Market message, TCE reporting the found market and also for EDMC.
Which one is false?
The false market, which was it, the last one?

@The cAPI could sometimes a little laggy on high loads, which EDMC accessing, so normally it doesn't take too long to be up-to-date.
Meanwhile, you could update your market, outfitting and shipyard data by opening the Commodity Market, Outfitting and Shipyard in game.
TCE makes use of the new market files (thank you, frontier) from the journal, but they are only get updated from the game, when you enter them the menu's (really sad).

Its showing the last station I was at. My missions seem to be stuck as well. Its saying I have 11 and I have only 8 now.

EDMC or TCE? What does the Position display showing, the wrong, or the right?
What does TCE reporting exactly with the Event Report, please more info...
