A nice diversion from all the negative posts....it really is a gorgeous Galaxy out there.

Ok, so it seems some people have missed out on some of the awesome new changes which came in the 3.0 update. I guess that's easy to do when the patch notes are so long. :p So to help you out, here is a summary of my favorite new changes (not in any particular order):

  • The new Guardian Structures. Not only do they have an awesome alien atmosphere about them (sound and visuals) but the codex information which we are getting from them are adding answers and also mysteries to the ongoing story line.
  • The new Thargoid stuff happening in the Pleiades and on the edge of the bubble which is mysterious and advancing the ongoing story line.
  • The new planet textures!
  • The change to material storage making it easier to gather materials.
  • The material trader which helps for those hard to get materials.
  • The change in Engineers which make it easier and quicker to engineer a module.
  • The new tools to help with trading.
  • The Chieftain!
  • The wing missions.
  • The change to the galaxy map - e.g. Civilisation filter.
  • The improvement in performance (for me anyway).
  • The additions and changes to some of the sounds.
  • The new Covas voices.
  • Galnet audio!
  • Not having to use my brakes on the SRV when using the external camera!
  • Crime and Punishment changes.

I'm sure I have missed out some but I am in a hurry to get back to playing ED. I don't know about others but just the above alone makes Beyond 3.0 a fantastic update and we all got this for free which is awesome. [up]

Ahh another thread attempting to shine some light descends in yet another one moaning about the moaners moaning about the moaning. Cant see the OP hes one of the few I have on ignore, think I got blinded once too often, anyway some nice pics, its one of the only reasons I want to log back in is too see the planets, I really should do that...

First of all my apologies to everyone here that I don't have any pretty screenshots to contribute.

Elite Dangerous keeps getting better with each patch. Yes, there are things that annoy me about the game, but overall, I think the Frontier Dev team is doing a great job and I can't really fault them much at all.

As for the trolls, ignore them... or at least ignore their negativity. They are trapped in a cycle of negative beliefs creating negative perception, which reinforces their negative beliefs. Just as you can't talk sense into flat-earthers who disregard all evidence of a round earth, you can't say anything positive to those who ignore all the positive aspects of the game (even though they are playing it every day for some reason).

Anway, I'm heading back into the game because, even after several years, I still enjoy it immensely. :)

If you were really making a positive post you would have mentioned more than how pretty it is.

the simulation/game is not a space fly through/image viewer

All Style and no substance makes nothing.

WHAT IS SAD is how you choose to defend the game with vapid screenshots and post maybe you realise it is indefensible but
What about talking about the advancing plot and story adding to immersion and its impact on bgs or new traders providing opportunities. or wing missions.

I think you didn't understand. I guess the OP didn't want to defend the game. Why always the opposition or competition who's right and who's wrong? Why not just lean back for a moment, forget about your complaints and recognize: "Yeah, that's really beautiful"? Without taking it as an argument that needs further discussing, because there are enough threads at the moment where you can do that. This is not Forum Wars 3.0.

It's not new gameplay is it, in fact why are they still faffing around with textures on atmo free planets?

Planets with atmosphere, gas giant interactions, comets, anything other than landing on barren rocks for the last few years.

This game is an embarrassment.

Locally we have a saying - "Awa an bile yer heed".

This game is awesome. Maybe 1% needs a bit of a fix :)

Yawn. My attempt at a positive post has attracted the trolls. So sad.

To be honest I'm getting sick of it, there's folk here now intentionally crapping on any +ve thread they can find.

If you scroll through this thread you can see who they are, just stick 'em on the ignore list and move on, it is what this forum feature is for, no need to drag the thread down with arguing.

I have blocked 3, I tend not to block people, but there comes a point where you just don't want to read their rubbish anymore.

Yes I was at Maia last night sorting meta-alloys for a 16T CRCR (which I got!) and it flying into Darnielle's it struck me how Maia 2 A looked awesome. :)

Hoping for more and more work there, it's such a huge an improvement over before. I think sometimes with all the focus an balance and combat and ships and what have you, it's easy to forget that for quite a lot of people it's the galaxy itself that's really at the heart of this game.

Nah, WHAT IS SAD is someone wasting their time on here posting about a game they don't like.

Agreed! I love this game. Keep it up, Frontier!

You do know that galaxy map no longer plots if you select certain mission types?

but if you just taking screen shots and not going from system to system is all you need keep clapping you are killing the game more than the exploits

What about talking about the advancing plot and story...
If you are looking for plot and a story, you are playing the wrong game. ED will probably never have that (except as backstory, like the Guardians and Thargoids). ED requires you to use your imagination, to make your own stories.

Thanks for the positive post op, against a sea of negativity its a pleasure to see. The fact that this game is a representation of the Milky Way tends to get lost. The core of this game is what you might see on your travels. The combat, the engineers, the trade etc are all addons to the magic and mystery of being able to roam the galaxy and imagine what it might be like. We have Thargoids, we have Guardians, what else lies out there in the unknown.
