Response from Fdev

"Hi all,

Regarding the material drops (in settlements/planetary bases) down from three to one: after discussing your feedback with the team, this is something we’re currently investigating. I should have more news to share in the near-future regarding this point."

Thanks for the info Will

I'm not sure what the thinking is behind this change but I'd love to find out. Maybe i'm missing something but it seems entirely unnecessary and considering we now need more materials and data than we did before it also seems like a really bad idea. Is it just to increase the grind some more?

So, the drops at places like Dav's Hope and the Naptha tankers only yield 1 mat' rather than 3 now?

I can imagine how that went...

FDev release 3.0, which requires people to farm mat's if they want to complete upgrades.
People want upgrades so they farm mat's.
FDev see people farming mat's and think "Blimey! We need to do something about that!" and respond in their standard manner; by nerfing it.

If this is correct it's got to mean we're worse off than we were when we started, right?
I mean, the main complaint about the old system was that it required too much grind.
So they made it simpler.
But added more grind.
And weighted the RNG so you have to grind more of the rare mat's.
And now we're saying that they've cut drop-rates by 2/3rds as well?

That's got to be a net loss.

I smell fake news, one of my clan colleagues is at the moment at Davs Hope and he confirmed a yield of 3 per collected material.

Serves players right for using exploits. This'll learn 'em!

Lol, how is something so obviously designed to work this way an exploit? Do you think these places just "magically" appeared? The developers intentionally created these places and they are working as intended. Is a docking computer an exploit then? Jeez...

Methinks you didn't notice the /s in that post which means... sarcasm....

About the changes I can only say Sweet Jaisus.......FD really hates it's playerbase..
