Yeah this little change totally screws up the whole C&P system they worked so hard on. I really liked the new system went back to archon delaine and power play again to be the full PVE pirate . Now i cant even change my outfitting to go with the missions i take , like more cargo racks for smuggling , or hatch breakers , more collectors etc or passanger cabins for when i want to do Wanted passenger missions ?

Sandro, any clarification on HOW notoriety decrease? Docked? Undocked? Supercruise? In hot ship or not? I'm stuck!

Who is responsible for getting the Client Updates pushed on Xbox?

I should imagine all platform updates are pushed to their respective platform companies (Steam, Sony, Microsoft) at the same time. It's then down to the respective companies to release those updates. Frontier doesn't control how long it takes each one to release the update they submitted.

Xbox always seems to be last.

Not true. I have ED on XB PS, and PC. When the 3.0 update dropped I had it download and install on XB before it was available to download on PS. PS and XB updates are available during the server downtime. Then came the PC update. The PC players have to wait until the servers come back up before they can download the update (if I am not mistaken).

IS this still a thing?

From ZERO to CORVETTE in one go? Not quite but close...

o7 CMDRs,

last week I did rank 0 to 12 (Duke) with Imperial Navy within a week. It wasn't bad experience, unlocked Cutter but being short on credits I only bought Courier and Clipper. Feeling good after that success I decided to rank up Federal navy and unlock Corvette. Prepared my iCourier and set destination to...

(in)famous Sothis/Ceos. I did some reading before, found few alternatives but decided for Sothis/Ceos anyway. When I arrived at Ceos, Monday 12th my starting conditions were as follow:

541zwuC.jpg

Superpower rep: cordial
Rank: none (0)
credit balance: 129 M

I was picking data delivery missions only. As a reward I was picking REP+++ only (over the whole course I misclicked twice: one for INF+++ and the other for some material reward). It took me 8 sessions, mostly 1h-1.5h long. I had 2 shorter sessions (less than 30m) and final one took me 4h straight. 12h+ overall time spent. Below you have a rundown of my sessions, credit income and rank progression.

session:
#1 - 135.6M (+6.6 M), rank 1 RECRUIT
#2 - 146.2M (+10.6M), NO rank up
#3 - 157.6M (+11.4M), rank 2 CADET
#4 - 174.4M (+16.8M), rank 3 MIDSHIPMAN (session start), rank 4 PETTY OFFICER (session end)
#5 - 181.9M (+7.5M), NO rank up
#6 - 187.2M (+5.3M), NO rank up
#7 - 190.5M (+3.3M), rank 5 CHIEF PETTY OFFICER
#8 - 224.0M (+33.5M), rank 6 WARRANT OFFICER, rank 7 ENSIGN, rank 8 LIEUTENANT, rank 9 LIEUTENANT COMMANDER, rank 10 POST COMMANDER, rank 11 POST CAPTAIN, rank 12 REAR ADMIRAL.

totals:
Cr 95M income
Rear Admiral
unlocked Corvette
unlocked SOL system, along with several other.

My final conditions were as follow:

In total it took me whole week to get from NONE to REAR ADMIRAL. Over the week I spent similar amount of time as I did for Imperial navy. On top of that I had few evenings during the past week, literally doubling the time investment. I could have done the whole run faster if not the boards not spawning rank up missions.

My circle was Ceos (single station) - Sothis (station + mining outpost) - Ceos. It may took a bit longer than simple A-B-A but my way I had 3 places to spawn rank up mission. Which, with above rundown, didn't play well. First 4 sessions and I ranked up just as high as rank 4 out of 12. Since Tuesday till Saturday it was desert. Wasteland. Total void. No rank up missions at all.

Mind that I was flying iCourier with 4t cargo space. Outfitted for intel missions, no weapons, no interdictors, no cargo hold for anything larger than a hand baggage. During the week I noticed once or twice Fed Navy rank up mission, but it was strike (pirates that require interdicting) or supply us (way over my capacity, nearest source of wanted goods was 250-300 LYs away). By the time I get proper ship, go there, buy and deliver I would do 3 circles with data so I skipped on those.

Fun fact - as I noticed that I can strike, for ex., it meant I can rank up for I have enough rep acquired. I knew next rank is granted, I only need proper mission to spawn so I can finalize it. Two days later, still no mission. Hard way you want to play, hard way it is. Starting Saturday I board hopped. I managed to snipe Fed Navy data delivery and ranked Chief Petty Officer. Not even half way.

Then yesterday came, I had bit more time and could sit bit longer. As you can see - within single day I did more than half of entire rank up. Some luck: ranks 8-10 I did one after another, ranked 8, picked data mission for rank 9, delivered and picked dat mission for rank 10. Ranks 6, 7, 11 and 12 picked via board hopping.

Yesterday was a special in a way - not only I got data missions I used for ranking up, rank up missions were spawning all right. Even though the ones I wasn't interested in, like 180t delivery, 50t supply or 16 pirates strike. Seeing those it was a sign I can start board hopping to get data delivery.

Overall I'm glad it's over. It took me just a week to unlock Corvette. It must have been insane to do it week after week for weeks and reach three or four ranks. Anyway, I had 129 M when I started, when I finished I had 224 M. As a reward for reaching high Federal Navy rank and unlocking 3rd of BIG SHIPS - the Federal Corvette, I bought :

That's right - for Federal money, earned while ranking up Federal ranks I bought Imperial Cutter  :D

The wing missions have been nerfed????

Just fired up the Xbox and 8 out of 10 wing cargo missions are now 137.00+ light years away, playing solo and using a Type 9 now makes those missions a grind to hell and wing cargo missions unplayable really for a solo player, is this nerf intended as it was not in the patch notes?

Darkspire

EDIT

Just checked the system next to where I am and the mission board is the same, totally nerfed the cargo wing missions

The grind to get any decent ships / equipment was /is bad enough, I was really looking forward to being able to do something other than months of grinding so I could enjoy following up on the Guardian sites and finding Thargoids, guess that is out of the window for the next half a year plus as I do have to work and don't have the time to play 24/7. Grrr.

interesting, I do a lot of bounty hunting, and this fix or addition or whatever you want to call it where pirates may show from same system or may also show from nearby system...

I would really like to know what your definition of nearby is..since the update I am now seeing pirates from systems I have yet to hear of, from as far away as 185LY away so far...another from 275LY away
And not seeing any of the locals yet....oops, theres one......oh , odd it seems that hes from the target faction, and wanted but nOT missions target....nice , so I see we are trading one bug for another bug, that was actually just recently, finally fixed and is now broken again..or is this intended?
?

Sandro we need answers on the outfitting lockout. You and your team have essentially shut down the play style of ALL professional criminals. I had every intention of living with wanted tags and a huge bounty on my head, this makes it all but impossible.

How?

I've said this in another thread. If you're going to be a criminal, be a smart one and plan ahead. Choose your loadout accordingly.

Its as if criminals want a risk-free, consequence-free career or something.

Can confirm that data drop bug is not fixed, at least at Dav's Hope datapoint.
Please check and confirm at settlements and outposts from planetary scan missions.

You'll just need to keep some places were you aren't wanted.

need to remove this section it dont apply no more
What are hot ships and modules?

  • When a bounty is applied to your ship it is “hot”. All equipped modules also become hot.
  • While docked in a jurisdiction where your hot ship is wanted your Starport Services access is restricted.
  • Hot ships can be cleaned at Interstellar Factors if your Notoriety is at zero.
  • Hot modules can be cleaned in storage.
  • Hot ships and modules can be sold for a significantly reduced profit.

The galmap crash sounds more like a case for the support. Have you opened a ticket? If not, you should do so I think.

Ticket raised and I keep submitting reports every time the game crashes.

It's only been happening since 3.0 dropped so it would seem to be related.

The galmap crash is particularly annoying. For me it only seems to occur the first time I load the map in a session ... if that time works, it's fine for the rest of the session. I take it that it's worse than that for you, then?

Well, it happens 100% of the time if I access the Galmap immediately after starting the game... which can be seriously annoying, cos if the game crashed when you open the galmap en-route somewhere, the first thing you need to do (upon restarting) is open the bloody galmap again to re-plot your route.
I have to engage SC, stop at a USS, scoop some stuff and hope that's taken me out of that "startup phase" where a CTD is certain.

In normal use it causes a CTD roughly 20% of the time.
It's got to the point where I'm actually navigating by memory rather than risking opening the galmap.
I'm currently only playing by taking on "local" missions so I can use the nav-panel to select jumps rather than having to risk using the galmap.
Even then, if I hop around and get to a point where I can't use the nav-panel to see my next jump, I have to hop back to a known "central" location and hope I can then see my next destination in the nav-panel.

I used the galmap a total of 4 times over the weekend and 3 of those times caused a CTD.

Given that most of my gameplay is related, one way or another, to whatever is going to be my next exploration adventure, the CTDs pretty-much kill the long-term enjoyment of ED stone-dead. [sad]
