The UI looks a little different, but this might help:As my Google-Fu is weak, can someone point me to a good tutorial in using TCE to find good trade routes? Currently using eddb.io and was wondering what TCE can offer. Thanks!
No problem. Also look at the first post in this thread, there's other info/guides posted there.Thank you!
Answers in Green. Eventure can correct me if I got anything wrong.Finally taking a look at this but there's a couple thing I am not sure I am understanding right. WHat I understand is you can start with no database when it comes to information like commodities, outfitting etc etc and just add stuff in yourself, like show in the video above in Abil Midena post. correct.
IF i understood correctly he goes to system map adds some stuff in routes and then the application adds in the rest and this is what is considered manually adding or creating your own database, right ?
You don't have to do this anymore, TCE will add unregistered (you haven't been there before) stations automatically upon docking.
Or you can download an existing database, from the extension tab, by clicking on "create database" in bottom right of the EDDB Relay section.
correct.
What does this do exactly? Does it populate your database with all commoditites, outfitting etc etc with the information taken from EDDB? I see there's a range of 30. 30 what?
LY. yes, from a db that Eventure has, which is taken from eddb and updated daily.
Distance of 10.000. what does 10.000 mean? Around "kamira" is pretty self explanatory as it will mean around w/e station you're at when you do this.
LS. correct, so any station <10000 LS from main star for systems within 30LY of Kamira in your example.
Now I get it not sending the WHOLE EDDB database to you but what happens when you get out of the range specified? You don't really want to do this again as it says it will delete replace you current DB?
correct, don't do it again,although you can. as you fly around you new location, TCE will add markets as mentioned above.
That mean you have to add manually as you get too far away from that initial area?
see last answer. remember TCE will automatically register the new stations you visit when you dock.
Also what does EDMC add? I get the impression it allows you to do the same as above but automated like as the extension will update information for w/e you dock by itself?
TCE uses the command line exe of EDMC to pull the data via the FD API. you don't have to run EDMC separately.
I am guess the EDMC put in your password info is pretty safe as it only allows the FD api to send information specific to you and you info isn't being sent "elsewhere"?
You used EDMC by itself one time, to register your password with FD. I was hesitant about this at first, but TONS of people use EDMC and I have used it for ~2 yrs and never had or read about a problem.
This tool looks like an amazing tool but it's a little intimidating at first look lmao
It is, and I find it hard to play ED without it. And maybe it's time I update some videos.![]()

I got an error when jumping into a system. I had to click continue because I was going to crash in to the star otherwise. I think this started wthe the scan protocol panel. If I get it and will not crash into a star, I'll grab the error. I did notice after I hit 'continue' that the summary panel had disappeared, and I had to restart TCE to get it back. That's all the info I have right now.
edit* I started setting throttle to zero after jump start, so I was able to grab the error. Same star, same error probably, same disappearing summary panel.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Usually exiting TCE and then starting TCE while the game is running fixes that. After that, it should have no problems. If you can't sort it out, make sure TCE knows where your game is installed. When you launch TCE, look at the 'settings' button and make sure TCE is pointed to where ED is installed, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\products\elite-dangerous-x64Thanks very much for clearing this up for me!
Is this suppose to look like this? What I circled in red. Those 3 mission I have completed but they seem stuck there for some reason? Also why does it keep saying please enter the game or restart?

Does the path in TCE under 'settings' show the path to your ED exe? It should. I usually have TCE running before I hit 'launch' on the ED launcher, but I think it doesn't/shouldn't matter. Mine runs ok. If you start TCE before ED, when you load up ED, TCE should give you a flyout notice saying "ED launching detected" or something like that. Dunno other than that man.Yeah game was running but restarted it and now those 3 invalid mission are gone but that center bit still says to restart etc, when I click on that center UI it ask me if I want to modify market or delete market.
Sorry to be a PITA but I want to be sure I am this is working right.In that video for example he shows us to do stuff via routes at the top right t but that not there on mine? Maybe just the UI has been updated since that video?

After you click on routes button (still on top right!), the panel that comes up will have the different settings over to the right, instead of at the top. If you can't see the 'routes' button, maybe you need to resize the main UI? Click on 'control' and then 'panel', and resize/drag UI so you see all the buttons...far left is 'control and far right is 'routes'.
Hi Eventure,
after scanning all logs with the new function of the launcher for the cartographie panel, I always get an error on verify. Repair does work, but the number of entries on a following verify is reduced.
This I repeated twice.
What do you want me to send?
