Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

It's due to the font size, Click 'CONTROL' then 'PANEL' and change the font size.

This is the same for ALL PANELS, click 'CONTROL' to alter the font size.

Or Click 'CONTROL' > 'OPTIONS' > then 'ICON UI'

Did a short video showing what I see when I run TCE, still not seeing a "routes" button? DOesn't matter if I start TCE first or after or restart the game from etc

https://youtu.be/-T91zfJIy3Q

I should be seeing this correct?

https://i.imgur.com/ofETcAn.jpg

I seem to be missing the last three buttons and TCE doesn't seem to be connecting to my game even though it detects it is running?

... If you can't see the 'routes' button, maybe you need to resize the main UI? Click on 'control' and then 'panel', and resize/drag UI so you see all the buttons...far left is 'control and far right is 'routes'.
I would first resize the panel so it fits on your screen, then make the font fit to your liking as Badbud says.

Aye what I did was mess around the the properties of the tce.exe and checked and uncheck "disable display scaling on high dpi settings" and thehn when I started TCE it asked me if I wanted the program to resize icons to fit the screen.

Usually, since I play on a HDTV and have my dpi scaling to 140% I have to check that box to get things to display correctly and fit right on my 1080p tv. Looks like in TCE you don't want to do that as it will detect this by itself?

Might be an idea to just have a resolutions option in the setting tab of TCE?

Now that the display problem is fixed on to the next thing!

From what I see I should not be having "WAITING FOR ELITE DANGEROUS - please enter the game or restart" ? I mean if the game wasn't running sure but it is and TCE detects it starting/running but that button never changes?

In the TCE setting, before launching" I have:

Untitled.png

It see I have ED: Horizons and is hooked to the elite dangerous 64.exe?

Any ideas anyone?

I mean from the Edlauncher I have 3 options: ed 32bit, ed 64bit and edh 64bit and in my ED folder I have a edlauncher.exe, a 32bit .exe and a 64bit.exe. The 64bit.exe is the same one regardless of if you have horizons or not isn't it?

From what I saw in your vid, you are at an Eng's base, yes? Try going to any station that has a market and see what it does.

I was at Hera Tani planetary base but have went to Hammel Station for more Kamitra Cigars. It's still not working, I mean it detects when I pick up cargo etc but that big button stays stuck at start or reload game for some reason.

Are you saying TCE isn't detecting the game?

If so then click that big button 'START AUTO DETECT PROCESS' and follow the instructions.

Although going to DATABASE and verifying your db, usually resolves that issue also.

Not it's detecting the game, detects ED is loading, detects cargo I pick up. I have done the auto detect thing and even manually set it to the correct .exe and have verified the DB several times.

Did you read my previous posts?

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ension-Mk-II?p=6567300&viewfull=1#post6567300

I even put a picture with a red circle to show what I mean. The big button at the top says, "enter the game or restart it" and never switches to the current station I am parked at like it should.

Yes, which is why I informed you about the 'START AUTO DETECT PROCESS' and if TCE hasn't detected the game then I don't see how it would detect cargo.

Where have you installed TCE?
Try running TCE in ADMIN mode.
Do you have an Antivirus app running?

I don't get why it detects some things like I picked up cargo or when I jump to different system it show me some info on it but doesn't detect I am docked, it's like just that button is broken for some reason.

TCE is installed in Documents/Elite/Trade Computer Extension which is a folder I try to keep other ED tools in. Also no other tools are running just ED, firefox and TCE.

Then I'm at a loss as to what is causing TCE to not recognise the Game being loaded up.

Just to check when you Did the 'AUTO DETECT' process did you see a pop-up and then click the OK button after each stage of the process? There should be 3 pop-ups.

And don't forget try Running TCE in ADMIN mode.

Have you installed EDMC?

Yeah did the auto detect and made sure to follow exactly (followed the pop ups) like you mention. Also everything in that Elite Folder is in my A/V exceptions list, the whole folder and I made sure the tce.exe "run as admin" box is checked in properties.

Dunno might just uninstall it all and try a fresh installation see if that works can't think of anything else to try tbh.

I gtg, have some volunteer work to do at my sons school, will get back to this later tonight.

Thanks for the help you all!

When starting TCE right click the icon and then start it in Admin Mode - Yes I know you've set it up to start in Admin Mode, but try it anyway.

But my money is on it being an A/V issue, because if you've done everything that I've asked then I don't see why TCE shouldn't recognise the game. But I've been wrong many times before.

Question: When I start TCE it only shows 'Waiting for Elite Dangerous. Please enter the game or restart.' Where is the problem?
Answer: The waiting message comes, if TCE Mk.II can't find any position data in the Net Log file. Please do the following to fix the issue:

  • Edit your AppConfig.xml file, located in Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64\ folder, if there is the entry VerboseLogging = "1" under <NETWORK section. It should look like that:

To edit the right file, you have to identify the proper location of the file. Please check this: https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=108

  • Start Elite Dangerous till you are in the game.
  • Start TCE.
  • Check first, if the right folder path was selected within TCE to your game version (like elite-dangerous-64).
  • Launch TCE.

You can create also a file named AppConfigLocal.xml at the products/elite-dangerous-64 folder beside the Appconfig.xml file with the following content:

Code:
<AppConfig>
<Network
VerboseLogging="1"
>
</Network>
</AppConfig>

You can download it here :AppConfigLocal.xml

Thereafter you will no longer need to set verboselogging after an update of Elite.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check the last netlog file (at the ED folder, the \Logs folder is at the EliteDangerous64.exe location), there are many entries, but you should looking after an entries, which looks like this:
Code:
{14:45:36GMT 25.705s} System:"HIP 12099" StarPos:(-101.906,-95.469,-165.594)ly Body:16 RelPos:(535.276,-312.01,97.9289)km NormalFlight

You can see, there is a Body identifier and a RelPos identifier. If TCE can't find these identifier, then you see the message "Waiting for Elite Dangerous. Please enter the game or restart".

Or That ^^^^^^^^ :D

Alrighty (dagnabbit I missed this in the OP) my ED install is custom so it's would be in:

c:/games/frontier/edlaunch/products/elite dangerous 64/ and here my appconfig.xml

which shows:

<Network
VerboseLogging="1"
Port="0"
upnpenabled="1"
LogFile="netLog"
MaxUpRate="250000"
DatestampLog="1"
ProtocolOffset="0"
>
<!-- if you need to connect to a specific server, include a line like this:
<edServer id="107" /> -->

</Network>

In the TCE settings I have it looking at:

c:/games/frontier/edlaunch/products/elite dangerous 64

Just watch out for the appconfig file. The FD file location list has been wrong for quite a while.

I have a standard/default install, which they show is C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\Products\elite-dangerous-64\, but my app config is actually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64. It's not far off, but it's been wrong, been pointed out to them, and is still wrong.

In the bug report forums, they also show a different, also wrong, location for the default. They show C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER, which doesn't even exist on my computer...I have c/users/my user name/appdata/local/frontier_developments/edlaunch_url_....

I think the guys in QA are listing the location for the betas, which is actually C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER_64

My point is, it's listed as being in several places, many are wrong, and just confusing AF.

They should make a new commercial, instead of "what's in your wallet", it would be "where is your appconfig file".

My appconfigLocal <---says local!

is:

<AppConfig>
<Network
