I loved Miami Vice! What say we hook up and bounty hunt together? You can be Tubbs.

Tubbs? You two are definitely Switek and Zito.

Well, this is where it comes down to Frontier making a huge error.

Having a PvP enabled game, without any need or rewards for PvP was a werid thing to do.

The apparent implementation of PvP is, in my opinion, simply that it's the same as PvE (combat) but with NPC(s) as opposition, i.e. no significant difference as far as the game is concerned. The game doesn't really "care"....

See, this is where I'm confused; is it okay or not to equip an kws and harvest bounty receipts whether big or small, or are you just going to insist on making a value judgment if the score isn't "big enough?"

why would it not be ok, they're only space magic, aren't dictated by player rules at all, and are infinite. Normally thats how one does any activity is the OODA loop, or well risk assessment, PVE Bounty Hunting is obviously really low on that list, including the thargoids. Unless you're referring about PVP bounty hunting.

This game won't hesitate to descend on you with station guns for a parking ticket, or to send every NPC in RES after you for so much as a 200 credit friendly fire accident, but players who want to use the kws to legitimize their own version of justice are labeled salt suckers, too?

I'm glad to hear you finally admit that PvP is not an optional activity. ;)

It's been clear, from the very beginning, that the fact that *every* player, regardless of game mode (and now platform), both experiences and affects the single shared galaxy state that indirect PvP would be unavoidable, even accidental.

Direct, in the same instance, PvP, has, however, always been, just as obviously, entirely optional.... ;)

haha I did that........ Engineered my FSD...... then... well, you can find me around colonia at the moment :D :D

no bubble for me! The upgraded FSD was the only excuse I needed :D :D

I used to base my entire fleet at colonia...bar a DBE I used as a bubble taxi which was better suited to open play than an exploration setup. Made the journey all of 7 or 8 times including the original CG to get Jacques back up and running. Ye know how much it costs to transfer an A rated cutter to colonia? Be sitting down when ye see the figure...

Ill go back to colonia...in time. Ill have a lot more than the FSD engineered though...and probably be in the cutter cos Ill never be able to afford the transfer fee unless I break the bank or exploit the hell outta some cash farm fer a few weeks. Not hard to make money in colonia but with zero engineers...lets just assume that to be more or less the only reason Im in the bubble at all. The gameplay here...still after two years avoiding it...still doesnt interest me and the whole thargoid thing is just a mess...isnt appealing to me at all.

In time, I shall return to colonia...it was always my adopted home and still is...that never changed ^

Correct, you just can't indirectly block someones progress or try to hinder it, thus making any sort of danger non-existent. Therefore whats the whole point behind PVP actions if theres no ability to hinder the other person.

.... apart from NPCs, of course....

It's there for players that want to engage in it - however, as an optional play-style, the terms of engagement cannot be dictated to others who may not share that play-style preference.

Bland and tasteless, missing a certain something perhaps.

Justice is blind, Bob, alright? It really doesn't matter what they're offense was. Balance must be restored in the name of law and order.

As an aside...how far have we drifted afield from the OP?

Ah but Jason there's different shades of balance.

For example wing assassination missions are fun and challenging to do solo, yet the last CMDR I met with a couple of hundred credits on his head wasn't. So I told him how to clear it.

No challenge, no effort, no point.

It's a dirty job that no one wants to do, but someone has to step up and take out the garbage at some point. It's like clearing a drain, or mucking out a stable; career offenders are never going to mend their ways unless someone finally teaches them that they need to...or else.

Edit: soloing wing assassination missions are not challenging
