Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

We're getting good at this!!
And at the rate Operation IDA is making repairs, we just might win this stations vs thargoid thursdays war.

Are there any new targets for this coming week? Or did Thargoid Scout supplies went dry?

Just be aware that there seem to be people intent on PROTECTING the Thargoids, got interdicted by an annoying FDL of Cmdr Truffle Shuffle, next time he'll be KOS

I believe he's been doing that for a while - time to test all those PvPer who all calling for Open Only and call on them for help - will be a good test of how well that's gonna work out ;)

* Not sure if this counts as name & shame, as he has no shame :D

If we are seeing the Elite 1 Thargoid re-enactment society it makes you wonder what are they running from?

They're not running - reading too many books has caused you to get confused :D

They're clearly searching for something, if they are running then why visit INRA bases, why attack capital ships, why even attack starports? Anyway, this thread isn't really for lorebore, back to the hunting & killing :)

That and the source of said lore could have gotten it wrong or lied.

Mentioned Cmdr got me once early this week in LTT 8517. I was feeling lonely in Mobius and decided to peek what was going on in Open.

Traffic reports show we should support Lwalama more:

EDMC data says the opposite:

Traffic has more predictive power - but you also have the choice between protecting an Imperial or a Federation system this week.

Predictions are that we will lose both systems, Lwalama is most at risk. But it is early in the week, so things will improve ;)

How are the predictions assessing each system's chances? Since the number of kills in each system is getting logged by a sample of the population, then can you use the traffic records of each system to work out the size of this sample as a proportion of the traffic reported in-game, and thus estimate the total number of kills in systems that were saved?
.
I'll be heading off on the Small Worlds Expedition 3 in just over a week, so I'll try and give one of these systems a boost over the next few days.

Nothing that complicated :)

My predictions are based purely on (number of fighting ships in a system) * (number of days they are seen).

If we get more than around 70 ships / day then we win, otherwise we lose. Hasn't failed yet. KISS :) As you say, the EDMC reports are based on a very small sample, so while they are fun I ignore them - they've often been wrong. If we get a better take-up of EDMC they may become accurate, so they're worth tracking (but mainly so we can test them).

Here is a pretty example how our German Cmdrs are fighting against the Thargs!
