Hi there,

Thought those of you who like ED might like to know:
Syfy UK will begin airing Firefly on weekdays in the 9pm slot from Monday August 25th, with Serenity following on Saturday September 13th at 9pm.

If you haven't seen this I'd recommend it:
Firefly follows Captain Malcolm Reynolds and the crew of Serenity, a small transport spaceship that does not have a planet to call home. Reynolds, a defeated soldier who opposed the unification of the planets by the totalitarian governed Alliance, will undertake any job – legal or not – to stay afloat and keep his crew fed.

Indeed, after watching the series (and the film) I wondered if Joss Whedon was a closet Elite fan, some of the resemblances are uncanny.

Tell me about it...I didn't watch it til last year (my sister was a big fan when it came out though). By the time I reached the end I was thinking, "Why on earth did this never get a second series?!".

Telly stumps me sometimes....;)

I consoled myself with 6 seasons of Castle (Nathan Fillion cracks me up) :)

Never really got a first series to be fair - it was cancelled before an episode even aired in the US I think. :(

It was a great show - and it IS Elite on TV. :)

I loved Firefly, they even had Christina Hendricks in it. FOX pretty much sabotaged the show but at least it will always burn brightly. It never had a chance to get worn out by a 4th of 5th searies.
My wife mangaged to get London premier tickets for serenity, through the Browncoats. I'm still gutted I had to work and missed it.

Aye its a great pity the cancellation by Fox in December 2002 after only 11 of the 14 completed episodes had aired in the United States. The three episodes unaired by Fox eventually debuted in 2003 on the Sci Fi Channel in the UK.

Theres a big fan base and its now considered a cult series. Indeed ED in space:D I like the cowboy theme:cool:
